Which firmwares are not installable on a clone or 1gb box

hmm can someone tell me if this is a clone and if its not can I install finless on it.

BUT the date is wierd it says 201/03/12

What other firmware is not installable on a clone or on a 1gb box? Can Stane's Linux be installed on a 1gb square S802 M8?

I wanted to buy an M8 on aliexpress but before buying I asked the selleer to take photos and here what he sent to mo. That's quite strange because there are samsung chips but the central radiator doesn't seem to be the good one...

Why not just order from eny or acemax on Aliexpress if your worried about which board you'll get?

Worst. Clone. EVER

Hi all, long time reader - thought I'd create an account and share one of the worst clones I've seen, seriously just look at that gumdrop capacitor and useless wifi/BT antenna!

I've called the supplier out on it as it was advertised as fully loaded with 2gb ram when it only has 1.6gb, etc. and they've given me a full refund and told me to keep it, thinking I'll repurpose it as an emulator / games machine as it plays N64 emulators better than any of my previous android devices (I've owned / dismantled more than I care to admit to!)

I can't access recovery and every time I try to flash a new firmware (finless ROMs and Amlinux) it displays the android guy and a scrolling progress bar then it boots back up into a wiped factory restored install. OTA update doesn't work either (but then it wouldn't, with it being a clone) - if any of you gurus have any idea what I could do to successfully flash a new ROM to it I'm all ears! Says it's rooted in CPUz and was advertised as such but titanium backup says otherwise - easy root method gives same results as above.

In addition to the above XBMC is sketchy, wifi and ethernet drops all the time (although speed test app shows full 40mbps speed, so probably down to intermittent dropped packets/quality than speed issue). Wasn't even the cheapest so foolishly assumed it was good! I'll stick to Aliexpress and avoid **** specials in future!

Here is a couple pics of my Diaotec M8N, when it boots it goes to amlogic screen, then mbox logo. It took the s89_root_update with no problems. Doesn't drop wifi or ethernet connection, hasn't froze or rebooted yet.

It has samsung memory chips, but the PCB ID says 20140918
Anyone have any idea what this is and is their a safe rom for it?

edit* finless 1.8 installed ok, first tried to install it via the update app and it got stuck in a bootloop, so held the reset button and powered on tell i saw the logo and let it install finless again and it is working fine, great to have a normal android ui back.

They are all horrible sellers from China on ****!!!!! All of their boxes are USED pieces of garbage. 40% of them will not boot into recovery. Please DO NOT feel that these sellers are the best that you can do. If you get a USED unbootable box from **** that is listed as NEW return and KNOW that you can get a U.S. stock box that actually works!!!!!! Stay far away from ****.com PERIOD!!! They are letting these Chinese sellers list bad boxes and sell and then they are reselling the returns from the shipping center without sending the defective models back to China!!!! These boxes are not what you should be getting. Order them new. If you contact me, I will give you a U.S. stock seller to buy them from. When you receive them, they will work on the Android Kernel that is delivered, no need to flash a different ROM, unless you want to, and then, guess what, you are free to flash. Unlike, the Chinese sellers listed above. They are plotting against you to destroy your box flashing pleasure.
