He knows what he doing.
Remember flashing is always your own responsibility.
And if he is not 100% sure of the rom then he told that.
But for 100% brick i dont believe that.

If he tested it, it was on the one device he ownes, and who knows about that. Lets face it, if all of the same models ARE all the same (which is OBVIOUSLY TRUE), then why do some get turned into a brick, and others dont. Obviously this is the ROM.

Anyway, this time, i really wont be back to this forum, so whoever can deletes my username, etc. I got a Roku and it pees all over this stupid device. I just wish I had know about the Roku before I bought the crappy mini-pc, and then had it bricked by this faulty rom. For those that did try to help, I appreciate your assistance, but ill be throwing the mini-pc into the garbage as soon as i get home.

update.img apparently bricked my UG802

Subject says it all. The screens were not exactly as stated in the README. The offer to delete the update flashed by so quickly I could barely read it. After a long wait a logo screen of some sort popped up and then went black. Now it's juat a blank black screen whether the chip is in or out. Is there a solution or was I just sucked in by a plausible trickster?

In both ROM kit versions there is a read me! This has full instructions for how to upgrade either the PC ROM flash tool, or update.img on SDcard. So PLEASE read the read me!

Recovered from bootloop

Hey Guys,

Just want to share my experience, flashed the 1.4 "the easy way" and got stuck in bootloop...

followed the steps described here - > http://www.armtvtech.com/armtvtechfo....php?f=12&t=13 and got it working again with an original firmware, thumbs up for these guys

I Bought my ug8302 with an original 4.1 stock rom (without chinese crap), and now I only found the original 4.0 Rom with the chinese apps.

I wanted to try the 1.7 Finless Rom, but I dont own a usb to hdmi converter, and My desktop doesnt have hdmi connection... is there any other way to do it?

My guess is that UG802 now comes with slightly different hardware e.g. wifi chip and that's why it gives some different results.
My reading in "Finless 1.7 thread", in this forum, gives information that you should be able to flash also newly bought devices but you might not get wifi to work (Hopefully it will be solved by the excellent experts in this forum soon.).

I flashforwarded on the "hard way" topic , you are right, I can simultaneously connect the ug83002 to the desktop and the TV

Yes, it seems like manufacturer started to install a new type of chip for wifi on UG802 and it might require some software tuning of all existing ROMs and/or even new wifi drivers. It's being discussed Finless 1.7 ROM thread. Hopefully it could be solved soon.

I bought and upgraded my UG802 before those complaining about the Finless ROM. I bought mine from a trusted reseller of Chinese brand electronics & the going price then was $70 to $80. At that time, I seemed the only person to experience strange results from using the 1.4 SD Card ROM. Unlike some here, I waited long just long enough to know my install was stalled, under 20 minutes. I powered off, re-downloaded the ROM & tried again. 2nd try it completed but I did not get the results I was supposed to get. I still got the original home screen and apps and had to click something to get something different. I never got the new app page. 3rd download, I first checked my SD card for corrupt format and reformatted it.

Then, I made sure I closed the card before I removed it from my PC. This time I got nearly the complete ROM result. I had a UG802 that let me get English apps, Youtube worked & I could search the full Internet. I was happy but I could see the UG was capable of still more. I did not have the wireless problems some people complained about.

Then, Finless released the 1.4a ROM. I was delighted at first. Until I experienced serious wifi connection problems. This had to be caused by the Finless ROM. Wireless connection lasted a few minutes tops. To reconnect, I had to reboot. I finally theorized that for some reason wifi software was corrupted such that when the signal dropped a certain level connection was very briefly broken and the software could not reconnect, so reboot was neccessary. I took a wild guess that perhaps the USB cable that came with my UG was poorly sheilded such that my other electronics (I suspect my 2.4GHz ddevices) could cause the wifi signal to surge up and down and the ROM somehow disrupted the wireless radio capacity to compensate so signal was broken or dropped.

I switched USB cables and that solved the problem.

Throughout all of this I wondered about the mini-computer manufacturing itself. I suspect that we all assume that our UG802 sticks are made by the same factory, exactly the same way. I suspect this is not the case. Now, the owners of much lower priced UG802s are having problems we early buyers did not have and more than a few recent buyers of the $40 something UG sticks are blaming Finless ROMs.

I suggest from now on, we include in our posts when and from whom we purchased our mini PC so we can figure out if we are actually talking about the exact same device. It seems to me we are assuming something that we should not assume. Does anyone here have any idea what exact company made their UG802 and what exact hardware it contains?

Just having no luck with the wireless on UG802

Hi Everyone,

My UG802's wi-fi has never been stable or even remotely fast enough (when working for only minutes at a time) to be at all useful, be it with the original ROM or the 1.4a Finless ROM.

I've tried the antenna mods, too (bringing the antenna wire and patch antenna out of the box, lifting the ground wire from the board)--but to no avail.

So my question involves getting wi-fi to the UG802 via the USB port. I don't want to have to run a long USB cable from my router to the UG802 (it would be about 15 feet with no easy way to conceal). So about my last consideration (before considering my UG802 a novelty and not really useful for my TV) is to hook up an n-speed usb wi fi adapter. Question: has anyone been able to get such an adaptor to work with an android device?

Sync Issues

hi, I was passed this link from a seller in china as my tv stick had boot loop... I followed the instructions and flashed the drive an added the software all worked perfectly well, so thank you for that .. the ONLY issue is the sync, It has sync issues on EVERY vid play back thing i use and I am not using any kind of storage card... Youtube, VX player, every site that streams content ALL have the same issue now whereas the original software on the tv-stick did not, It is not any kind of connection problem as the kids all have tablets and they have no issues... Yes the update people are speaking about on youtube sucks (NOT this software's fault but their's.. if I keep the version installed with your software and don't update, that solves the related issues but not the sync.. is there anything i can do to solve this? it seems odd that a repitubale seller linked me here to solve these issues

The 1.4a link is old.
