How do I go about installing builds from xbmc.ru?

I have used recovery method to install minix x8 beta firmware before and I think I need to use the same way?

          They have the recovery.img file and a factory_update_param.aml and a OpenELEC-Amlogic.S82.arm-devel-20150113183017-r20272-g0481f0c-update.zip

          Any help would be great

Yep, that will work. You can also put the three files on an SD card and boot into recovery by pressing the reset button during power up. If you are installing this on a Minix, please report whether it works or not. When I tried this firmware, I ended up with a blank screen. codesnake's build does work on Minix X8-H.

Can confirm I also get a black screen, hopefully this can be fixed as I want to see if HEVC decoding works well.

I have a square s802 M8. I recently tried several different OpenELEC zips, but most of the ones that did install (I had several NO FOOTER ERRORs), did not have any access to wireless networks under OpenELEC settings. I finally came across a Russian zip on xbmc.ru that installed and it is the latest developer zip found at: OpenELEC-Amlogic.S82.arm-devel-20150113183017-r20272-g0481f0c.zip. After zipping it to the s802, I realized it is for the S82. It still worked but it seems to have some bugginess. Getting stuck on opening stream window and working spinning wheel getting stuck too often. I am used to Stane's MX Linux and got spoiled with speed. Please help, I need a network working .zip with audio/video synced properly and speed. Any suggestions on a more suitable ROM zip? All of codesnake's ROMs do not have wireless. Is there a way to have ethernet hooked up after installing codesnake's zip and then get wireless by downloading a network setting addon or enabling an OpenELEC setting feature??

                        Remote keyboard

                        Hello,

I have an MX box with ARM processor - Openelec 4.2.1 installed on it. I am looking for a compatible remote keyboard to use with the box. Anyone has tried one and let me know which model can be used?

just reading through this thread and looking at
                          http://amlinux.ru/image/5.0.0/

what is the Amlogic 806 listed here? is it for the CX-S806 box?

That's no Amlogic chip. It's the CS806 box.
You can use S82 in a square M8. IR remote does not function.

That's incorrect. It's for the cs-806 which is an amlogic s812 soc.

Huh? That's what I am saying s806 is no Amlogic chip... It's a model name CS806.

So why you are saying incorrect?
