Thanks
But at least this openelec may save my m8 box from the garbage lol.

I really appreciate your effort to port Openelec to the M8. I tried your Kodi based Rom yesterday (coming from Stanes linux rom) and I was really surprised with the build quallity and features of Openelec. I don't own a square M8 but a Beelink S82/Tronsmart S89 or whatever it is called (Orbsmart S82 in germany ~~ / its the round one^^) and your rom just works fine. The only thing not working is the remote but I will try a few remote.conf from this forum when I'm home and I have a remote usb reciever for my Harmony so it's no problem at all.
The main reason for me to try your new rom was Kodi. I would love to convert my whole library to the new HEVC codec and save a lot of space on my HDD's
I converted one episode of Breaking Bad from x264 to x265 and it did play well on my computer.
But here's the thing: I tried to play the same file on my M8 but playback was really poor (File is on a HDD connected through USB 2.0). Sound and video where out of sync because the video wouldnt play at full speed. I just tried Hardware and Software acceleraton but do you have any advice wich settings are needed to play HEVC files? The quad core cpu should have more than enough power to stream HEVC-coded files of a USB HDD. Or is the USB 2.0 the problem?
Sincerely

Is android the only way to play hevc files?
