maybe silly question but..is there anyway to get Gotham back on this build? to much incompatibility within kodi at present or is a reflash required?
is there a update .tar I can use to go back to gotham with codesnake?
previous build with Gotham took 40seconds + to boot this one boots straight into it 5 seconds
    thanks

I love this version on my mx2 and it works awesome and great work. the only thing is that I cant get iptv simple client enable. As soon as you try to anable it in the pvr client list you get error and it disable itself.

Any help would be much appreciated!

      Thanks in advance.
I am using the IPTV SC Addon without issues on the same hardware + OE build, something might have gotten bad in your installation.

The main change in OE5 is Helix, so i would say if you wanna stick to gotham just run the 4.2.1. build. It's near perfect :-)

You can always downgrade by just putting the 'update' TAR-file of 4.2.1. in your update dir en restart...

          Did some testing

          I did some testing today.

I went back to android today om my M8.
All was fine. 180p and cec was working.

I flashed kodi openelec again and only 720P and no cec ( all options where grayed out. so i cannot chance it)

I post a dmesg in a attachement maybe you can see something is wrong.

I realy like your stable version. but not having 1080P is anoying. cec isn't that important for me.

          Thanks alot for your help.

thanks that's what I was asking if it can be downgraded this way
and is that .tar taken from op #1?
when i first tested codesnakes oe port it took while to boot 40+ seconds so I switched to justme's b1,2 & 3
but codesnakes 5.0 b1 and b2 boot fine now

Codesnake, is there a certain firmware we should flash your OE on top of or does it matter. The issues I had on my M8 don't seem to be happening to anyone else. I flashes a stock firmware from grant an and then 4.2.1 but it sticks in the openelec slash screen.

Go into flash mode and restore then reboot
Three days of testing can save 10 minutes reading manuals

Yeah but but then I need to set up from scratch again. Would rather know what I'm doing wrong than a patch.

                    Live TV - IPTV Issues

Codesnake thanks for bringing Openelec to the M8.

I only are having some issues with Live TV / IPTV via IPTV simple addon.
(on all other versions like stane's Linux or android versions I don't have issues)

                    Issues:
-Non-fluent playing of some of the streams (mpeg-ts) via udpxy.
                    link sample

                    - Purple artifacs during channel switching

                    - Cannot select deinterlace methode like on Stane's linux version.

I hope that there is a way to solve these issues.

You can install OpenELEC for M8 over any firmware.

That's because Stane's Linux uses software decoding for MPEG-2 videos, but OpenELEC uses hardware decoding, and I can confirm that MPEG-2 hardware decoder on S802 has problems with some MPEG-2 streams.

Would that explain some live streams being slightly jerky?

Is this something that you can improve, or is just the decoder that isn't great?

                          Thanks.

I'll fix that when I'll find the cause.

Everyone can select Wifi in openElec settings in the current version 4.95.2.tar ?
When I go to Openelec/Network all I see is Wired

When I rollback/downgrade to the previous version 4.95.1.tar Both wifi and wired are there.
