When Downlaod the 4.2.1 file it decompress itself when it finish downlaoding. The whole the time I went into the folder an compress the four files that was in the folder. When Trynna to install from ext it would say archive .zip and it wouldn't work. But then I figured I was suppose compress the folder without going in it. It rename it as what I downloaded as but it still wouldn't install. When Trynna install from ext It say recognizing file look like it's gonna install robot is up the it will abort install. Idk wish there is a vid on this to see what I'm doing wrong. I'm not tech savvy at all but I do appreciate u guys Trynna help me.
I 'll say you ONE MORE TIME. DON'T DECOMPRESS/RECOMPRESS the MX2 ZIP installation archive!!! It is digitally signed, and after you recompress it, you get a broken installation package.

If you read and follow the instructions Openelec will load properly and will update properly.

I'm very thankful for your work but even more thankful for Trynna help me out.. U are the F#%*N MAN!
u were right the file can't be decompress. When I download it on my Mac it automatically decompressed the file when it's done downloading. Like I said I'm not tech savvy Google why it auto decompress. It says it's something gotta do with safety, idk😕. So I just turned it off, re download it and it stay as a zip file. Re did all the installs N boom it installed!!!! Thanks again codesnake for everything!!

OpenELEC for M8 with XBMC 13.2 Gotham:

Codesnake , do you plan to release an Openelec for the MX3 1gb Ram box as well? That would be the best combo of low price and ultra fast box because it is signifigantly cheaper than the rest S802 boxes ... If you do plan to develop an Openelec image for that box can you give us an approx ETA ?

Huge thanks and respect for your work ...

So how about the speed difference for a m8 or MX2? Is it noticeable different In speed with Openelec?

                    I don't do builds for devices I don't have.

                      And what about speed codesnake?
I have a X8-h and would like to try Openelec on the m8 or MX2. So what is the better buy?

M8 is faster of course, but there's no significant difference in video playback, both play videos good, except the MX2 has problems with HD video deinterlacing in latest builds, but that's a software issue.

I have just checked and the IPTV Simple addon works without any problems. I use the standard round M8 remote and LG TV remote via HDMI CEC.
