Hi! Codesnake is there a way to get Iptv simple client to work with OpenELEC 4.2.1 with XBMC 13.2 Gotham (new MTD) on the GBOX MX2?

I love this version on my mx2 and it works awesome and great work. the only thing is that I cant get iptv simple client enable. As soon as you try to anable it in the pvr client list you get error and it disable itself.

Any help would be much appreciated!

like you, i purchased the PCTV 292e dongle, and was planning on running it in my MX2 directly, which i'd like to say, has pretty much come alive once i got rid of the Android firmware (Thank You Codesnake!)

Anyway, i found a really nice way which works perfectly for me.

It seems that DVBLink is a perfect match with this tuner; i just downloaded the latest BDA drivers from the PCTV website and went and installed DVBlink components on a (any) Windows backend. Plugged the tuner in; let it scan and installed the DVBLink client in XBMC. Works really great and all recordings are on my laptop to watch when i am away from home ;-) You could also run the backend on a NAS for example.

Only one ' downside' as it's not free, but you can activate a 20 day trial.

That's because Stane's Linux uses software decoding for MPEG-2 videos, but OpenELEC uses hardware decoding, and I can confirm that MPEG-2 hardware decoder on S802 has problems with some MPEG-2 streams.

With software decoding Live TV works, but sometimes reboots Kodi (your beta 2).

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any way to do that.

For me, disabling amcodec seems to give smoother playback in live TV streams (eg Pak India) but enabling it gives smoother playback in HD movie streams (eg Cartoon HD).

I'm still on the Gotham ROM btw, no problems. I don't mind toggling. Thanks again codesnake.

I use IPTV Simple on both MX2 and M8, and don't have any problems. Check the addon settings.

How can I kill the XBMC process without it being restarted? I want to copy my guisettings.xml from a backup. I have tried the following but it won't work

Codesnake, is there a certain firmware we should flash your OE on top of or does it matter. The issues I had on my M8 don't seem to be happening to anyone else. I flashes a stock firmware from grant an and then 4.2.1 but it sticks in the openelec slash screen.

This is something common and many users are effected by this issue on MX and M8v(more on MX).
Apart from this error there is another error which says something like "Failed to start XBMC hacks" and once you are stuck there, the only way is to reinstall the ROM but you end up loosing you xbmc data which isn't that good. I have pointed out this issue earlier as well but no one has noticed it so far.

I hope this could be fixed.

Most likely this issue is caused by damaged filesystem on one of the partitions.

If you install dvblink one device will be the dedicated server. All others devices can pick it up from the network stream.
I am currently thinking of buying a second pctv stick to be able to record and watch at the same time or watch a different channel on another device.
The program supports 8 tuners ;-)

Same problem here

I did some testing today.

I went back to android today om my M8.
All was fine. 180p and cec was working.

I flashed kodi openelec again and only 720P and no cec ( all options where grayed out. so i cannot chance it)

I post a dmesg in a attachement maybe you can see something is wrong.

I realy like your stable version. but not having 1080P is anoying. cec isn't that important for me.

Tried on cec-client on the cmdline, but little debugging without any outcome !
