Do we need to set the resolution in Android before flashing? I've set up two boxes now and one can do 1080 and one cannot.
Same TV and same hdmi cable for both boxes? Could be a cable or TV issue..

If it was me I'd flash a newer android and then reflash openelec and see what happens.

Yep, same cable and TV. I just switched in the new box.

The only thing I can think of is that my first box (the one that works properly) was running Finless 1.7 prior to me flashing codesnake's OpenELEC ROM. The second one was running whatever crappy ROM it came with from China. On that box I can only select 720p.

Could this be the solution? Put Finless 1.7 on and select 1080p in Android before flashing codesnake's ROM?

easy enough to do, so worth a try. i flashed from a stock china rom straight to codesnakes openelec but the stock one i had let you pick 720 1080p and 2160p in the menu.

                  Time and Date Reset

Recently installed Openelec 5.0.3 on my Gbox MX2. Time and Date show as Dec 31, 1969.
Have gone into settings and set country and time zone, still showing Dec 1969.
Is there an SSH command to set time and date?

                  Thanks

Did you reset your router? Try that first

                      Yes I did. Still Dec 31, 1969

                      Thanks for the suggestion.

Try this. I got this off another thread for someone else before and it worked for them.

                        This fixed the date issue

                        Open an SSH Session
Logon with root username & password
                        Type date -s "yyyy-mm-dd hh:m" (eg. date -s "2014-07-22 17:47")
                        Press enter
then type hwclock -wu (this will keep the time & date settings following a reboot)
                        Close the SSH Session

Just set the timezone correctly and open the openelec settings and set pool.ntp.org under timeservers.
then you will get the correct internet time.

                            Thanks.

I am a novice to SSH. I presume the IP address is the one listed in System Information.
Believe I read somewhere that username is root and password is openelec?

                            really appreciate your help!

Thanks. Worked. I had to put it in all 3 timeservers.

Thanks, I'll have to try this if I ever come across this problem.
