    Awesome! Will the 6.0 work with the M8 too?

          @Codesnake,

          Can't wait to breath some new life into my M8n with a new upgraded build from you. I will donate to you again when you get it completed and posted on here. I am sure many others will donate to you as well. Glad to see you coming back to life on here again.

            Can someone help me please.

            I'm using OpenELEC-Amlogic.TV110.arm-5.95.5.2 on my S805 device.

            I have a Mygica T230 TV tuner which is only supported on Kernel 3.19, since this is Kernel 3.10 it needs drivers. I looked at the drivers seem to be there but tvheadend doesn't see the tuner.

            That is all it says when I plug the tuner in, what am I doing wrong?

            Also why am I getting massive amounts of screen tearing in the UI?

              I have 2 M8 boxes from different manufacturers. I flashed them both. One is running great with Openelec (thanks codesnake) the other is bricked. I've tried everything to unbrick the last one. Any help would be much appreciated. I attached some photos.

                  You said yourself that the tuner is supported only since kernel 3.19. So because your firmware has kernel 3.10, it is not supported.

                    The drivers can be backported and poking around in the kernel all the files required are there:

                    dvb-usb-cxusb.ko
                    si2157.ko
                    si2168.ko
                    dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw
                    dvb-tuner-si2158-a20-01.fw

                    Drivers are included in kernel 3.19. They can be built with media_build for older kernels.

                      According to the link the modules can be built using media_build for older kernels.
                      Then if you have all - just do it. Note though that TV110 build you mentioned is not from this thread.

                              Hi everyone. I have been running Megatron Android for some time on my Amlogic S-802 TV Box (OTT, 2GB, square M8, round remote). I know Codesnake's ROMs work great on this device, and I would like to have a try on his imminent OpenElec 6, preferably by running OE from SD card (or USB stick) while keeping Android on NAND untouched. Could any experienced user please post a detailed procedure for the preparation of such a bootable SD card (or USB stick), aimed at running OpenElec for M8 directly from removable media, starting from Codesnake's ZIP or TAR files for M8, and not affecting the Android system residing in the unit?
