I heard codesnake is very busy with wetek play (probably works for them) and he moderates the wetek play forum. so theoretically, my guess is he is totally less interested in developing any more builds for any other device. because he would be working to improve weteks competitors. Therefore i think we should not put all our burdens on codesnake (he has done the hardest work for us). we should also be supporting and donating to people like kszaq and the ipodtouchdude to keep our devices up to date.

Hello guys. I am using this firmware for my m8 long time with no serious problems. Last night i tried to watch a movie that i have already started 2 nights before and i got sound but no picture at all. Then every movie or tv series or youtube video i tried i was getting only the sound. I disabled the hardware acceleration and i rebooted my device, and everything was fine. Is that necessary to work with software acceleration only? Is there a fix ?

Does the m8 have any freezing problem like the mx2 after installing openelec??? And which m8 best work with code snake build. I want to get it wholesale from China. Hopefully u guys can guide me to the right direction. Thank you.

Tomorrow I'm going to be installing OE on a new M8 box 2GB for my father in law.

So I have the zip of 5.0.3 and have extracted this to an SD card, the card contains the correct 3 files.

Is there anything else I might need, the box (or at least the **** listing) shows what I believe is the standard rounded remote, not the squarer one so should this be supported fully under Openelec or will I need to extract a remote.conf file from an Android Zip?

I should say I'm a pretty experienced flashaholic and Android and OpenElec user so I should be able to get there on my own if necessary, I'm just trying to be as prepared as possible before I take a trip to see the FIL tomorrow. I was never a boy scout but I like their motto.

i have problem with time and date. I install openelec to my mx2. I have internet and everything is working fine....except time and date.
Any help pls

I was having constant time issues, until I found out my ISP was blocking the NTP.ORG servers.... as soon as I put a non ntp.org server in the openelec network settings ive never had another time issue

Can you please tell me if the M8 box with android 4.4 can be re flashed with openelec??

I tried flashing this, and it works. But I would like to go back to my original firmware. TWRP was removed while flashing, and the recovery that this build installs wont let me reinstall TWRP or original firmware. Anyone know what to do?

Can someone tell me how to update 5.0.3 to 5.0.8 runing for mx2 gbox matricom. I have tried building from source. I don't know what I'm doing. If there is a link with the 5.0.8 firmware with tar files would greatly appreciated.

I have flashed M8 using my same SD Card as I used it previousley with three files copy into SD Card.

I use second .zip file new installation but recently new M8 box all I get following screen...
Android system recovery <3e>
KOT49H.20140516 test-keys

Volume up/down to move highlight;
enter button to select.

reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apple update from EXT
apply update from cash
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

Could anyone please help me out, how do I flash M8 2GB/8GB Amlogic?

I use the latest openelec 5.0.8 with M8 box everything is working fine 1080p,3D, but the audio with optical is not working, I have not sound to my surround system!!!!
I TRY to flash with openelec 5.95.3 and i have the option for optical but i lose the 3D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
