hi there, long time lurker, first time poster, have an mxq box which I've set up perfect, however I have an m8 (2g) here, can't get it to flash for the life off me, start it in recovery and it just hangs on the m8 logo and doesn't do anything, any ideas?? is it my recovery.img or is there a trick with these boxes I'm unaware of.

Thanks. Yep, I do use that website and have found that the M8 builds of kerbers do seem to work for the Matricom G-Box MXQ. They also have MXQ builds on that site, but I believe they are for a different MXQ.

Yes they both do. Kerbers has 4 cores working with very low cpu usage and Codesnakes has 2 cores working ( which might just be governored ) with higher CPU usage

That said, I love Codesnake's work with the MX2, and have been using his OpenELEC for more than a year now, so am happy to find he has a 6.0.0.0 build for the MX2. Look forward to trying both on my two boxes and see how well they run.

Thanks very much to Codesnake for the T8 version, much appreciated and will be getting installed tomorrow. One quick question, I have backed up my current Spinz tv build, can this be re-installed onto the OE version when I have that installed, sorry for the nooby question, but this is quite new to me!
Thanks again

make sure your using the zip version if this is a new OpenELEC install and your using a SD card... the .tar verions is okay if your updating a Openelec system already installed... If your using the proper file for your particular hardware and its not finding the install image for some reason it could be the sd cards not formated properly or maybe that particular sdcard isnt liked for some reason by your box... normally the zip file contents unzipped onto a fat32 formatted sd card should just pickup the sd image on a hardware boot using the reset button on the box or the right key on the remote if you have a box without the reset button the box... once OpenELEC is up and runing on the box... its easy to update with tar update files simply by putting it OpenELEC's update directory and rebooting the box...
