I can't remember (because I'm not a numbers guy), but the way GB is calculated actually, and they way GB is advertised has ALWAYS been different. After any disk is formatted, it comes out showing less than the advertised or spec'd size...same with every computer device. Why that is...to me is a total mystery...but it seems to be a TRADITIONAL LAW of all that is geek. Hahaha!!!! Maybe someone more geeky than me can cough up the real legendary story. Children....Gather 'round.....

If you flash the rooted ROM and select a parameter file for greater user app space...the difference will be subtracted from your available internal SD.

One GB (should be named GiB) is a gigabyte (should be named gibibytes= 2³⁰ byte e.g. 8*2³⁰ bit=1073741824). The gibibyte is a multiple of the unit byte for digital information.

One gigabyte, or GB, equals one billion (10⁹) bytes when referring to storage capacity.

1GiB ≈ 1.074GB

So if we have 32 GB storage then we have 29.79 GiB storage.

Missing CIFS

Hi guys!

This rom is almost ferfect for me!!! Congratulation except i need CIFS, but i couldn't use is there a known issue or missing, or is something wrong on my device?

when i want to mount cifs the result is allways : no such device!

Yes i have seen, but isn't working for me, cannot load modules auth_rpcgss.ko, lockd.ko after loading the cifs.ko , mount result is invalid argument, in dmesg is many unknown symbol. A note i have freaktab_1.1 installed.

Freaktab ROM 1.1 Kernel

Hi guys,

1.) I just wonder the different between kernel & kernel_pipo_stock. Is the kernel.img already overclock? I just flashed my Pipo M6Pro with Freaktab 1.1 with kernel_pipo_stock. My old system was RileyROM 1.8.1 with kernel : kernel_GPS_1.4_cpu1704h_target_2.1_V1_gpu600_ddr74 4. Antutu version 4.4.3 give me 192xx score. After I flashed with Freaktab 1.1 same Antutu report about the same score. If the kernel.img is an overclock, I will try again. Please advise.

2.) When I use RileyROM 1.8.1 my Pipo can get GPS satellite. After flashed with Freaktab 1.1, could not get any GPS satellite nor any AGPS (from wifi). My unit is with SIM but I haven't put any SIM card in same as before. Any comment?

Latest Google Play Store Normal/Modded doesn't work properly.

I'm from Riley 1.8.2 KK Rom and the latest Play Store, modded or not is perfectly working on it while on the Freaktab Rom 1.1, it keeps on force closing and it's not usable. Anyone knows how can i install the latest PS without facing that problem? Thank you in advance!

PS did update itself though it's a normal PS. I'll observe this along with observing the rom if it's much more stable than RR1.8.2 rom. Thanks again for this! My M6Pro will serve me a really long time!

There was a major Play Store update this week. It must contain some significant changes...because the older version seems to crash until you update it.

It's almost impossible to keep these ROM's completely up to date with the latest Google Apps...even the gapps zip files you can download are a little bit behind.

Battery problem

Thank you for your effords to improve this tablet.
I've mislead from the specs of this tablet and i bought it, thanks to you i can use it for my work.
The new rom is awsome.
my microphone wasn't working and i always thought it was a hardware defect but as soon i installed this rom it works jut fine.
The only problem i've got now is with my battery life. Cpu spy indicates that my tab goes to deep sleep but my battery drops 10-30% after 8 hours. I installed greenify but nothing changed. du battery shows that the most drainful app is "android system". have you got any suggestions.

Freaktab ROM problems

I somehow manage to install the modded PS 5.0.37 (not tested the lastest .38) and it worked fine.
These are the problems that i have encountered in the Freaktab ROM:
Touch isn't that responsive, when i press keys in the keyboard it will stuck up and stop. I tried to play Cytus (musical game that need alot of screen tapping) and the issue was really visible.

I went back to 1.8.2 but i will try to install the rom again because overall the rom is very stable and much more smoother than 1.8.2. I just hope the touch issue will be gone on my another flash. Though it's not overclocked, i can see some pre-lags when starting apps or games that eventually be gone after a few seconds. Idk about the battery but i think the battery is much more longer than 1.8.2, maybe because it's not OC?

Overall the rating of the rom for me is 4/5. Thank you amd keep up the wonderful work and development!

EDIT: The earphone/headset icon is still not enabled in the rom, once the earphone is plugged out, the music is still playing in Poweramp.

EDIT AGAIN: I installed the ROM again and the touch issue is still there, can you look at it Riley? It may affect my daily use of the tab like typing, I removed my games that require alot of tapping since i play my main games with a BT controller.

Freaktab v1.1 with (included) alternative kernel really stable!

I am running the Freaktab v1.1 with the included alternative kernel (new kernel but with stock settings) since it was released, and it never failed me since!

With the standard v1.1 kernel I had a near sleep-of-death only once. After a night without charging it came back on, but it was very slow, and after about 5 minutes it stalled on me.
I decided to give the alternative kernel with stock settings a try, and I am happy I did!

It just works every day! If I charge overnight or not, it just works, and works, and works!
With or without overnight charging, it just comes on and goes on where I left it.

Overall the battery usage is great (better than ever before!), no overheating, I just love it.
I did apply the 'hotplug' governor, using 'No-Frills CPU Control' but that's about it.

One really little bug I found: If I set Alarms using Clock, they do not come up when in Deep Sleep.
They just show after I Power-On the device again. Eg. when I have an alarm for 09:00 AM, and I switch my Pipo on at 11, the alarm for 09:00 comes on...

Maybe this is normal, but I have a phone (Elephone P8 running 4.4.2) that comes back on for the alarms, even when I switch it completely off!! (annoying sometimes )

When I have my Pipo M6Pro under charge, the alarms do come up.

Hi,

you could try to install an app called 'ProcessView' to see what is actually running. The heaviest process will be on top of the list. Maybe you have an app installed that is causing the usage.
With this app you can identify what's going on.

My Pipo M6Pro really has a very low battery usage, nothing like the numbers you experience.

Did you have a touch issue like when you're typing fast, suddenly it's stuck or you can't press it for a like 0.5 seconds? I enabled "Show touches" and i can clearly see it happening when i'm typing and while i play games.

I switched the 'Show Touches' ON as you did. I can clearly see the 'dot' is a bit behind when I swipe fast across the screen, but I did not manage to get it to hang, stuck or freeze. Also typing characters when composing a new email just go on.
I do use the screen in the standard high resolution, and I use NoFrills CPU Control to set the Governor to Hotplug.
My Kernel is the alternative one, that came with the v1.1 freaktab ROM.

I just let all the pushed updates come in, now my Google Play Services have version 6.5.87 (1599771-038) , the Google Play Store is version 5.0.38 and works OK as far as I can see.
