I'm sure you will find that this ROM will be MUCH BETTER than the stock ROM you have loaded.

You need to unzip the ROM kit you downloaded from post #1. In the root folder there's a First Time User's Guide that explains everything.

You need to use the flash tool included with the ROM...not the batch tool you used to flash the stock firmware. Again, it's all explained in the pdf document in the ROM kit.

I have downloaded and extracted Pipo_M6_Pro_FreaktabROM_1.1.zip, inside there are 4 folders(drivers language log rom) and 3 files config.cfg an ini file and the executable rom_flash_tool137. I can find no Pdf in the archive or said folders. I have also downloaded and extracted PipoM6Pro_ROM_141031.zip from post #1. and again i have found no Pdf file. how big is it? I am currently downloading Pipo_M6_Pro_FreaktabROM_1.0.zip and will check that for a pdf. can u please tell me the exact file path to the first time users guide (pdf?) document? or provide a direct link to just the one file? thanks

Getting ROM_Flash_Tool_137 to recognize M6 PRO

I'm having some problems with ROM_Flash_Tool_137 finding M6 PRO.

I got as far as 'Switch' ing to the Flash Mode with ROM_Dumper_Tool.exe.
When I do this the 2 rock-drives in 'Disk drive' hive in the 'Device Manager' disappear and the 'Class for rockusb devices', Rockusb Device shows up instead.

From here I'm stuck. I tried rebooting the M6Pro, with and without the 'ESC' key pressed , but that does not get me any further. 'Found RK Android Loader Rock Usb' never shows up in ROM_Flash_Tool_137.

I used the Driver tool to install rock drivers. I'm running x64 Windows 7.

              Any suggestions?

              Thanks and Happy New Year!

If this is not the right thread to post this, let me know.

Open Device Manager and with the tablet off, hold the esc button and press power while plugging in the USB. See if your PC recognizes the tablet when in flash mode...that's what the drivers are for. If not, the tool didn't install the drivers. You will need to follow the instructions in the First Time User's Guide for installing them manually.

With the Flash Tool running, you will see the tablet in Loader Mode.

                Other things to check are:

                1. Use the USB cable that came with the tablet.
                2. Make sure USB debugging is turned off.
                3. Use a USB 2.0 port...not USB 3.0.
                4. Don't go through a USB hub.
                5. Try different USB ports.

It was USB 3.0 vs 2.0! Too many usb ports on my computer and not labeled....
Once plugged into a true usb2, all went well as expected!

                  Thank you!

                    M6 crashing

Even before this upgrade I'm getting intermittent crashes. The screen freeks-out and you just see vertical lines and you have to do a pin-reset.

It keeps happening with this update as well. But at least it reboots itself without the pin-reset!

                    It happens pretty frequently now.

Is my M6Pro busted for good?

                    Thanks

Update1: I put the table into 'Normal' mode. Lets see how long it goes like this.....
Update2: 2 Slices in Ninja Fruit and POW! Crash! Boom! Dead. :-(

thanks a lot for posting that pdf i really appreciate it. i havent flashed my device yet but i just got done reading the whole guide. this part kinda fired me up a bit! -- " Pipo tablets, for instance, require a USB cable with just a little longer connector on the micro USB end in order to reach all the way into the socket." i was thinking for months that my tablet might of been refurbished and a smaller usb was added but now im thinking that they just sent me the wrong cables because in order to connect it to my PCs and flash i need to open the case for a steady usb connection. anyhow, ive been searching newegg and amazon for a while now trying to find a usb cable with a longer connector on the micro side but i havent had any luck. if anyone knows where to buy one or what search terms to use when looking or some kinda product name and # i would really be glad to get that info. thanks

**** is always your friend try item 281151186539

I used a powered version from this fleabay seller 390907430181 for quite a while

If you get an android TV box then a powered hub is an essential item for keyboard adaptors, programming joypads and USB flash drives. I got a 3 port one similar to fleabay item 121512455536

This ROM is fantastic, it is by far the best ROM that's ever been out for this tablet. Riley etc are to be applauded for their hard work

                          I bought these:

And they worked great with M6 PRO. My other usb cables were not long enough, but these were.

Referring to the touch screen problem you are having with your particular tablet....I haven't been able to recreate the problem on my M6 Pro. Have you by chance had any repairs done to your tablet...like the touch panel/display?

We are running into problems on other tablets with replacement displays having touch screen issues like you describe. While our kernel guys might be able to make a kernel that would solve the problem, I suggest you stick with my 1.8.2 RileyROM if it's working for you.

If anyone else is having the same problem...please report.

Yeah my tab was once repaired, dont know if its the touch panel or the screen. So that's why, i guess i will be waiting for an update in the future. Thank you sir! I hope it can be solved in the kernel.
