Seems you are right... For one reason i had came accross a page displaying it has a Wireless bluetooth antenna

So now that i have more info:
        1. You will definitly loose bluetooth functionality.
        2. They either use UBA-CUW1000 antennas or HFS11-S001 in PSP's? : I prefer the board type ^^
        3. Question is this antenna better than pipo's? it is not a laptop one.. And i think you will loose a lot of efficiency since it will be covered in great part by the metallic part of the back cover. Only way to know is to test.
        4. This model was designed for 11b ... will it work on a 54g wifi module? Apparently it should since it is the wifi module that does the job and 11b almost all 54g frequencies. But since I never tried it I cannot garanty it. Seems you will loose Channel 12-13-14 usage. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11g-2003
        5. I would advise you to use the cable included with this antenna wich is probably better quality but that means board solder in any case. From my experience it is much harder to solder an antenna than a pcb.
And you just cannot do a split on coaxial wire like the speakers.

For the reasons above. Try to stick with the original antenna.

Thanks i would appreciate the feedback

I hope will have time until the end of the month to do it. I will report back how the modifications gone. I’ll try to be extremely careful.

          COMPASS 180deg offset

Anyone? Regarding the compas do you still get a 180deg offset with this new rom? I am too lazy to upgrade my Pipo ^^

          1. I corrected the interference of the compas by shielding the speakers. Now the needle is stable. It used to go up and down 1-2 degrees.
          2. But I am pretty sure the Chipset is mounted upside-down. If you put the tablet over your head looking at it upside-down it becomes ok. Unfortunatly, there is not much i can do physically. Just bad hardware design.
          3. I am sure we can overcome this pb by modifying the software. Either at the driver level(best) or android level. My coding is a little rusty but I am willing to give it a try. It is all about sensors "you can use the geomagnetic field sensor in combination with the accelerometer to determine a device's position relative to the magnetic North Pole"
          4. So far i see the the driver cannot be decompiled but i see this new rom uses sensors.rk30board.so. we have a rk31 board no? RRILEY do you have the full uncompiled code?
So for now my best bet is modifying the google API code on sensors and putting a +180 deg somewhere before the final application call on sensors: sensors.h or sensors.cpp

Do you think it is possible?

I identified the wrong parameters. You can see this using Z-DeviceTest app and Compass tool.

Sensor.TYPE_MAGNETIC_FIELD is an array of three floats [X,Y,Z]. System returns wrong X and Y values
            There should be a X= -X and Y = -Y / Z value is fine.

But I think i am way over my head here. So if someone wants to have fun modifying Android API good luck^^

Maakie has told that he has corrected axis for compass, don't have a M6pro for testing !

Oops Missed that line. Excellent ^^ Guess I'll give my unlucky M6 PRO a go for 1.1. Thanks stevejc

                  WiFi only and 3g dongle

Hello, my answer is: will my 3g usb dongle still work with the wifi only version?

I had problem wifi top see here : http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...-wifi-too-slow
I tried all kind og things but ended op making a plastic back cover, that worked for me. Not pretty but working perfect. If everything fails you can test wifi without The back cover and if that works this is the last option.

FatFreddy you can paint the plastic ^^

However you just gave me a solution to a good GPS antenna (More or less what i planned to do but missing the balun). Thanks. Believe me i searched.
Since I can't seem to bring anything new appart from the incorrect wiring of the speakers. Then i'll try adding this to the pipo M6 PRO : http://atarist.home.xs4all.nl/geo/diy_gps_antenna_d.htm

Out of curiosity which wifi antenna did you use (Link is dead) . Do you still have bluetooth?

Could paint it but what the heck, as long as it works. And after these new roms provided by the nice, clever and good looking guys here at freaktab its just happy days

I bought the antenna giouncino linked to in #4 in the thread i linked to. Should be good. I soldered it to the pcb on top of the existing antenna as i could not melt the solder. Proberly not very wise, but i was close to panic . I still had week wifi after adding antenna, maybe because i didnt remove the existing antenna... i dont know. But without the back i had perfect and very fast internet no matter where i was in the house. I still have bluetooth. I think the antenna from ebey is both wifi and bluetooth, but im not 100% sure. Maybe giouncino knows?

You kept saying it was ugly and it is ... not ... totally ^^ good job on the plastic cutting ^^

By the way Clever and good looking guys at Freaktab as you say ... should and will get a reward.

Link OK but I cannot see the antenna type... What France cannot buy in Italy ... see below?
Since you kept the original antenna you maintained bluetooth use. As for the solder yes i had the same problem again they used electric solder instead of an electronic one - not what should be done. This is why i needed to use a more powerfull one than 30W just for 1 second with the risk of frying the PCB.

When you are testing the v1.2 ROM's, this time both 3G and Wifi versions...I need to know if the parameter files will work.

If they don't, you can use the parameter files from v1.1.
