    Sure.

You might try using the parameters from the previous ROM in the meantime.

          [Pipo Project] M6 Pro

OK....installed NoFrills CPU control and oc my CPU to 1.8Ghz.
This never worked before. 1.7Ghz was max speed. All above that would lock the tablet instantly.
Now with this ROM, I can hit the 1.8Ghz and Antutu benchmark finishes without any problems.
          Simply fantastic.

                thanks riley
i wait for a confirm from you that those old parameter files work also on the new version if you don't mind
does this cpu oc app work on every cpu or it needs a lucky cpu?

                    Hi,

I flashed Maakies WiFi-ROM using RRiley's earlier 4GB parameterfile without any problems.
(I assumed it would work, and it did)

                      Hi,

I have a very unlucky CPU and with the V1.1 ROM I needed to use the alternative kernel with stock settings.

Now I use the new Maakies ROM (about 5 days now) and so far no problems!

(BTW, I used an earlier 4GB parameterfile made by RRiley)

                      Un saludo,

Maakies's ROM is very good. The kernel is very stable, but there is no uncompressed version available to patch/modify default frequencies and voltages. On a WiFi model we are winning a lot of power having the nice kernel not trying to lock on a mobile network. Without using external applications to change voltages we are loosing a lot of power helping the kernel to stay stable as is. So it's stable and fast - YES, it takes power -YES

Thank you for the photos spyderbilt. I did not hope to here from your project any soon so I am happy now.
Regarding the speaker wiring I think I will not try to solder on the board itself, maybe cutting the wires and swap – solder them will be OK too. I assume on the photos I see the correct wiring.
I cannot imagine what for is good the cardboard piece underneath the WiFi antenna but I will try it. I am not an electric guy but are you sure that a not magnetic material (e.g. aluminium foil) will shield a magnetic speaker? Will try it too, will not harm either.
I have a spare of an antenna like this.

I think about to make a T-like connection on the existing antenna wiring and expand the WiFi antenna with this, placing the new antenna itself above the batteries. There seems to be enough places for it. As I said I am not an electrician so I am open for any suggestions. Would this modification impact negatively or positively the WiFi reception?

                            You are welcome karmantyu^^

                            - Speakers: Yes connection shown are the good ones(written on PCB board). You want to cut the wires and invert them in the middle (twist and solder)? It is quite dirty (potentially bad connection); however it should work and far less risks of burning the PCB. Just make sure to:
                            1. Check cables are long enough before cutting them. If you cut them ...you loose length. It is really tight in there.
                            2. On a same pair(red-black) of wires. I would cut one cable at 1/3 and the other one at 2/3 lengh. This way you won't have both connections at the same place possibly preventing the case from closing.
                            3. Isolate the open wires with electric tape or better heat-shrink tubing.
                            4. If you remove any yellow tape be sure to put it back. It is important for shielding.

-WIFI/BT: cardboard piece underneath the WiFi/BT antenna worked for me. i too was doubtfull
but laws of signals are complex. The goal of the cardboard is to have it very flat and some technical stuff i won't get into.
                            1. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL when removing it not to bend it or rip it / It is extremely fragile. I used tweezers and took my time.
                            2. You will need to try the best position of the antenna with the case partly closed. Keep in mind that the best position in one part of the house might not be the same as in another part of the house. Through trial and error you will find the sweet spot where you get good WIFI everywhere. Each time i was testing the WIFI signal strengh AND the connection speed. It helped me having a good pipo for reference.
                            3. If it does not work for you. your problem might be different (bad solder quality...) There is a lot of talk about them.

-NEW ANTENNA: DO NOT USE THE ANTENNA YOU SHOW it looks like a BLUETOOTH ONLY One! so no more WIFI!
Using a laptop antenna can be the best solution. I did not have that and could not find one that does 2.4GHZ WIFI and BLUETOOTH at the same time. The only one i know is Mini Ipad 4 one but reportedly same performance as pipo's one (First bet on pipo's).

-NEW ANTENNA2: If you don't care about Bluetooth and find a WIFI-Only antenna. DO NOT do a T connection. Use only one Antenna at a time.

-SPEAKER SHIELDING: "magnetic material (e.g. aluminium foil) will shield a magnetic speaker?". YES it does: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ruv6grz9epc
Just put them over the magnet as i have done. I used scoth aluminum foil found in a hardware store for ventilation systems but they also might have them in electric guitar stores. Regular kitchen aluminium foil should work but hard to make it stay into place and you might need more than one layer fold it on itself? (My scotch aluminum is thick so better shielding).

Good Luck you will need it ^^

Many thanks again for the detailed answer spiderbilt. The antenna I pictured should be a WiFi one.

I hope will have time until the end of the month to do it. I will report back how the modifications gone. I’ll try to be extremely careful.
