Just flashed once (1)!! But I must say the unit acted strangely before the flashing: first it didn't want to boot, had to use an different charger but afterwards the one that came was ok; then it was only detected by the pc in flash (or recovery) mode, now only in mask mode.
It may be the locked bootloader issue that finless bob says is affecting the clone units, which is strange 'cause I've bought it from an official (?) rep.
I haven't taken the heat sink off the SOC and the NAND is beneath it.

first flash you have done was in recovery mode or mask mode?
what i understand of your info is that you already had a problem before flashing, for me i would do a thermal fix, just in case, and after a stock firmware flash if possible, you risk nothing if well done, and you already removed the heat sink, so give some heat to soc nand and ram, let it cool, see if connections to usb port are well soldered, then test flashing, if no go, send it to supplier, or hardware flash the nand, this way you will know that nand is good or not.
send my the nand reference i will look the datasheet for more info.
normally even nands with bootloader locked can be unlocked, but needs hardware flash.
P.S. mete essa merda a torrar...

Yes I could only flash - the first and only time - via recovery (NOT Mask Mode).
Believe me, if I haven't contacted the seller and he wasn't willing to trade it for another it would be burning right now!
I have done something similar to a optimus Black with a no service issue (but no go though)
But as they said they could send me a new one so I'm not messing with the hardware.Last edited by l0ur3nz0; 03 February 2013, 15:18.

Help please
Hi all,
Fist of all I would like to tank you for the participation on this great forum, I learnt a lot with you guys
Now, I am sorry if anyone already make this question but... unfortunately in the process of building a new home for my MK808 (make a new case with power supply and USB hub inside) I think that probably I briked it :|
I have tried to put the MK808 in MASK ROM mode but with no luck, what else can I try? it helps if I solder some wires to the "JTAG" interface of the MK808 and see if I get something?
like this:
or there are other way?
Thanks in advance

I I shorted the pins 8 & 9 of the NAND chip, connected USB cable to the OTG USB port and nothing.. MY PC does not recognise the MK808. I have installed the drivers before I briked de Mk808 so I think that is not the problem.
Thanks

My RK808 (purchased in DX.com) has worked well with Fitness 1.6 ROM until yesterday.
I turned it off normally and on again: black screen. Blue LED on. I flashed back to Rom Fitness 1.6 (zero errors) but without result: black screen.
What do you suggest I use?:
- Flashing back to original ROM.
- Flashing back to stock ROM.
- Use the method of pins 8 & 9.
Help me.

Need help with serial connection
Hi again,
I finally got my USB to RS232 converter and I connected it to designated pins on board as stated in blog:
But when I start putty and powered device, all I see in putty is:
DDR Version 1.00 20120529
In
Unkown Device
ERR
Is this mean that my mk808 has dead memory, or I missing something else? Is there anything else that I can do with this serial connection?
Thanks and best regards
