Is it possible to root the T9 (v1.08) with TWRP on a Windows 10 laptop. And if so, which is the best TWRP version to use?

After downloading TWRP 2.8.6 there are three files including an image file. There is no APK. How do you install?

If you have twrp installed just use 2.8.6 zip with it...or unzip it and spflashtool only image inside with scatter.txt as recovery this is only if you have original partition size uncheck everything only if you have original partition size...

If you don't have PC ,you can root it first by kingroot apk,
And flash twrp image to your device by falshify.apk.

I just cant get the SP Flash tool to recognise my T9 I think it may be due to some of the drivers refusing to install.
It may be a silly question given this thread is all about TWRP, but does anyone know if OneClickRoot will work.

                    Hey guys,

at first I want to say, thank you for this great forum. I have read many interesting things about Cube T9 before flashing TWRP and the cleaned up version of 1.08.
Also I have now used the 8GB scatter file because it was a nightmare to cleanup my temp folders every 2 weeks to be able to update installed apps...
That was something I have't realized before buying the cube t9 via some china airmail shop. Some guy in the comments wrote that it only have 1GB Space and not 32GB but more guys wrote no its 32GB so I believed it :-(.
I thought 32GB great now I'm ready for the future and also put a 32GB SD-Card in it, but then after 20 Apps installed the 1GB System partition stopped my enthusiasm... now after 4 month without any updates from cube, I thought the time has come and I have to try your great customizations and after several hours of losing hairs ;-) I'm finished and it works!

2nd reason why I installed the cleaned rom was that I try to get rid of some kind of Bug which scrambles the screen and the tablet stops working, so I'll have to reboot it to be able to reuse it. Sometimes its several times a day, but sometimes it's not happening in 2 weeks. Maybe it has some sort of defect but after opening the case I was not able to see any hardware defect, so maybe some chip is broken or something. Let's see what the flashing brings.

Keep going with the great work.

Did you install the drivers while the tablet is on?
I had problems also, and only by connecting while its "on" I was able to install the drivers from first post. Also I had to use the same USB-Port for flashing when connecting while power is off.
TWRP with SU is working great, so I have no need to test root with OneClickRoot, sorry.

Its been several months since I last tried to install the drivers and I cant remember if the T9 was connected or not, I will try again and let you know if it works. Many thanks for the help.
Just remembered, my laptop has USB 3 and I think that was part of the problem. At the time it was running windows 7pro, but I have now upgraded to windows 10, so that may also be an extra problem to overcome. If someone can come up with drivers that work with USB 3 and windows 10 that would be great. And it would be well worthwhile as there are many thousands on of T9 owners who would benefit.

Update: Still no luck. Drivers wont load as they do not recognised the T9, even though its switched on and plugged in to my laptop which does recognise the T9.

In the archive adbrecovery.7z have drivers, they definitely work on win7x64 and win10x64 with usb2 and usb3 on my system (core i7-3770, z77 motherboard). Before installing the drivers, don't forget to disable the windows driver signature verification. When you connect the tablet off defined in the device manager for a couple of seconds. You should have time to click on it, choose update driver and select the path to the drivers
if you want, try my custom. when I uploaded it here, one person having trouble with the installation and I would like to know what is the reason, cause many people download this rom on my native forum and none about problems installing not posted by. If you try, preferably using the migration and repartition options. Carefully read the instructions and remember to do a full backup in TWRP to external storage.

Hi again. I manually installed the MTK drivers from info found here... I then ran the SP Tool to install TWRP and in the 'Download-Agent' box selected... \TWRP\SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1452.00.000\MTK _AllInOne_DA. In the 'Scatter-loading File' box I selected... ' \TWRP\MT6752_Andrioid_sacatter_8gb.txt ' I then selected Download Only, hit Download, plugged in the T9, the install bar turned red saying ' Download DA 100% ' and I got a Smart Phone Flash Tool message saying ' PMT changed for ROM, it must be downloaded ' with NO green succsess tick. The help section simple says ...

                              ERROR_ROM_MUST_ENABLE
[Description] The download image has changed.
[Solution] Please select Format all + download scene and download again.

If I select Format all + download, will it format my T9 and loose all my data and files etc.

scatter you choose 8GB, 2GB stock value. Repartitioning is done only in the mode "format all" or "firmware upgrade", and you will lose all the data, and in the mode "fomat all" you will lose imei and MAC address. download adbrecovery.7z of my previous post, turn on debugging usb, connect the tablet to a computer, switch to MTP mode, make sure that the drivers are installed (its included to archive) and launch installeng.bat. it will install twrp 2.8.7.0 and reboot tablet to it without loosing any data.
