djdean1 Thanks for the logs. Unfortunately Android module won't help as your WiFi chip is not even listed as being present.

Is seems like your box is different than the other ones and needs further investigating. At this point the most helpful thing would be if you can provide me a link to a working Android firmware image for your box, most preferably in USB Burning Tool format.

Are there any markings on the PCB apart from the sticker? In what kind of box did it arrive?

However tvheadend does not list it as a TV adapter. Would you be able to move it from media_build to the kernel drivers in the next release? Maybe this one will work.
kkm Please try if it works with 5.0.8p16 release. 5.0.8p16 includes media_build drivers and you can safely downgrade both NAND and SD releases without wiping your data (use a tar file to downgrade). Also, there is no need to reflash bootloader when downgrading.

Thanks for the update. I will try it now. Hopefully no more out-of-sync audio

No improvement on p16. Tvheadend sees no adapter, no detection at bootup only after replugging:
          Code:
          OE:~ # lsmod
          Module Size Used by
          as102_fe 3407 1
          dvb_as102 11565 1
          dvb_core 75979 1 dvb_as102
Incidentally, on both p16 and p17 I get intermittent log errors:
          OE:~ # dmesg | grep dvb
          dmesg: klogctl: Bad address

Abilis AS102 works actually better than RTLs on OE i386.

Also is it possible to open local console with crtl+alt+f3? On OE i386 I'd add 'debugging' to kernel boot line to enable local console. It is needed to kill/restart Kodi when it freezes on broken IPTV streams.

            I have a new problem:

I was running the beta on my MXQ (the original one with MX in red on the corner) and wanted to try android again, so I flashed MXQ_110k4_20150325_sdcard via sdcard and reset button method.

            Then I flashed
OpenELEC-Amlogic.MXQ.arm-5.0.8-20150628.zip NAND using sdcard and reset button method it worked fine.

Now I want to go back to android again, and the sdcard and reset button method is not working, booting straight to openelec. No android loading screen.

            Thx, Tommy

I am not running openelec from the sd card, I am running it from the NAND, trying to reinstall android on the NAND. with the sd card image loading, like I was doing before without problem.

                These steps:

                2. Extract all the files in the zip to a freshly formatted SD Card.
                3. Make sure the power IS NOT connected and Insert the SD Card in the TV Box
                4. In the back of the device, Locate the A/V port and insert a tooth pick or something none conductive into the hole. You should feel a button being pressed.

                5. Press and hold the Button in the A/V hole while plugging in the power. Keep holding the button for 10 seconds
                6. If you did the steps correctly you should see an green Android robot with a progress bar below. ((( NOT happening for me anymore )))
                Your box is now updating.

Hello, first of great work on these roms, I just received an MXQ today with a RTL8189etv realtek wifi chip what would I need to get to help you add this chip also?

One sure way of restoring Android on NAND is with Amlogic USB Burning Tool.

                      @ecko404
Login through ssh, issue the following command: " reboot recovery"

After reading a few post back I guess I have the same realtek wifi problems as djdean1, I'll wait and see if it gets figured out. For now if you need anything from my end I'm more then willing to help out.

I did find this not sure if it's good for what we need.

If the toothpick method is not working because of a hosed NAND, the fix is simple:

If you power up the system with a SD card inserted, the box looks for kernel.img
If you power up the system with a SD card inserted AND you have toothpick inserted, the box looks for recovery.img

Since the toothpick is not working for you, on the SD card, rename "recovery.img" to "kernel.img" and restart the box.

                          It will flash your box.

WARNING: It will flash every time it boots unless you remove that SD card with kernel.img. If the flash writes the image (you watch the green robot for about 5 minutes) and reboots the box, pull out the card as soon as the box goes black otherwise it will restore/write the image over and over and over again.....

kszaq i have to dissapoint you but sound problem is still same, i am now pretty shure that problem is in new amlogic kernel, for example in p8 there is cpu temp in system info and on p15,16,17 temp is not shown. back to p8. Anyway thx for trying.

kszaq here the sound noise is gone!! thanks for the work you put into this rom )
Now its only missing the shutdown button, but the option with countdown works.

Things that i would like to see included in the future: the latest version of kodi, better memory card detection, scroll wheel working on the mouse, improve the speak delay when watching movies (this happens like 10% or 20% of the times with very specific type of streams), wifi improvements to get max speed, if possible.

Also a thing that i not shure yet but it looked like the device was heating up a little more then p15 version. I wil be aware of that.

I will be giving more tips while using these last version on the next days, thanks again

Just an update mate. flashed OpenELEC-Amlogic.MXQ.arm-5.95.1-20150518.tar and the wifi is working but the remote control isn't obviously because its an older upload without the remote.conf. takes around 40-50 seconds to boot into kodi but the wifi works so what ever driver is used in this build seems to work well with my box. here is the lsmod

                                OpenELEC:~ # lsmod
