Hello To all.

in first place very thanks for this release, it is very useful for us!!!

I have a question, here in my MXQ I can run perfectly for the SD card, but when I try install this in the NAND I received the error:

Verifying update package...
E: footer is wrong
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.


How can I fix this and install this version in the NAND?

Make sure you extract the zip, and move the 3 files to root of SD card. And flash with toothpick

Hello,

after some time of testing Version .19, I noticed that OpenElec doesn't use my mySQL Database to store the watched status of my videos on a NAS.

That's strange because the same advancedsettings.xml is working perfectly with two Raspberries and even one Amazon Fire TV.

Is ther anyone else who has noticed such a problem?

miguelf Thank you fir the logs. I suppose that our devices don't support 32kHz sampling rate properly so I turned it off completely. You may want to try a new build: 5.0.8.20.

im having issues with the remote not working on the hd18q build everything else works fine including wifi but no remote at all.

sentest You have to put remote.conf from Android firmware to Configuration folder in OpenELEC. You may have to remap some buttons, you can read how to do it here: http://openelec.tv/forum/146-wetek-p...ek-play#129375

I had a HD18Q with Kszaq's OpenELEC 5.95.3.1, and found that dynamic framerate switch is not behaving as expected. As I enabled it in the system menu (Settings -> Expert Level -> Videos -> Playback -> Tick "Adjust display refresh rate to match video"), the system framerate doesn't change still.

When I use SSH to get in the shell, and execute
cat /sys/class/display/mode
Will finds that "1080p" is applied , even when playing 1080p24 video. To change the HDMI output to 24Hz, I executed follow command
echo "1080p24hz" > /sys/class/display/mode
To force the output to 24hz, which result most smooth playback for 24p videos.

I had tired several mode setting string for different video, and found optimal settings as following:

"1080p24hz" -> 24Hz Video
"1080p23hz" -> 23.976Hz Video
"1080p50hz" -> 25p/50i/50p Video, from UK/PAL Region
"1080p59hz" -> 59.98Hz Video
"1080p" -> 30p/60i/60p Video


Just checked the XBMC source ( https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/ma...s/AMLUtils.cpp ) contains AMLogic mode switching supports, Just don't know if it is for Android version only.

I will try a custom build , with modification on CEGLNativeTypeAmlogic::ProbeResolutions() in xbmc/windowing/egl/EGLNativeTypeAmlogic.cpp
to override the supported display modes, and see if the problem can be solved.

kennylam My builds do support frame rate automation. It may not change if the box can't read EDID properly. To see resolutions reported by your TV you can cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/disp_cap. If 1080p24Hz is not there, frame rate won't switch automatically.

Felix74 DD and DTS audio is passed through properly. HD Audio passthrough is not supported.

hi, first of all thank you for your amazing work.

I have two problems (last version of stable):
- sportsdevil works but streaming in all channels is 'too fast", I mean with 'helio' voices and accelerated video..
- no p2p work in my env. how to right install and test it?

medeiros405 You have to use "toothpick" method. If you try to flash the ROM manually in manufacturer-supplied recovery, it may not accept third-party ROM zips.

Well I already tried a slightly later file HD18Q-5.95.3.2 which I guess would be similar. The problem with that one for me was that the red light stayed constant (ok no big deal) but the remote would not work (which was a deal breaker), however, the remote for my MX3 worked on it - go figure - and so I found the share Configfiles/rc_keymaps and put what I thought was the correct (MXQ) remote.conf in there but that didn't work - shouldn't the remote.conf be in <root>/etc ?? Anyway, I gave up on OpenElec for my OTT MXQ as whatever I tried I always ended up with either no remote or no ability to turn it back on without a hard unplug/replug as there is no on/off button on the OTT MXQ.

So I read some other posts on here and found a simple fix to the lack of bootloader problem which was to SSH into the box from the PC and type reboot recovery and that got me into the android recovery screen and I was able to restore a stock recovery image for android and then set that up to boot directly into a customised TVMC.

Its not the ideal solution I would have liked, and uses much more overhead, but I just couldn't find the right combination of OpenElec+Whatever fixes were needed for my OTT MXQ to make it everyday-useable. Perhaps the problem is that there are so many different versions of MXQ that it is difficult for the image developers to focus in on a constant build that encompasses MAC Address+Remote+SoftStandy/Shutdown issues - whatever I did, at least one of these 3 was an issue.

Updated from .17 to .20 tonight and everything (Wifi, BT) working great!!

It seems a bit faster now...maybe its just me...Have not had any issues since .17 but just felt like checking out the updates!

Could you please expand on this Kszaq? Where do the changes have to go and also, how do we find the correct GPIO for the LEDs?

I was able to get the latest 5.0.8.20 installed to SD card, and the android-ubuntu-hybrid-rom --> http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...ntu-hybrid-rom installed to NAND !!! WHOA!

On MXQ, inthere is a button hidden in the AV port.
When pressing it with a toothpick during boot, it forces boot to recovery.
If you're rooted, you can install petrus reboot app, and use it to reboot to recovery without toothpick.
Insert OpenElec SD card before booting to recovery in order to start OpenElec.
