It appears the bootloader.img in the HD18Q update.zip is not compatible with the S805_MXQ_V03 board (results in Brick with no access to recovery...only recovered using USB Burn tool).
If I change the bootloader.img with a known working one for this board and resign the zip with ainol zip signer it works perfect (Wifi Also). If I then copy over the remote.conf to/storage/.config/ , once openelec has been installed, the remote works (apart from the OK button which im looking into)
I have attached the bootloader.img for the S805_MXQ_V03 board and its remote.conf
Im not sure if you guys want to link to this post from post 1 to let other V3 owners know of this problem.
I would like to know where did you find this bootloader.img file?
Mouse button she works with your remote to possibly change the remote.conf file?
Thank

Moamoamoa I extracted it from the working img file. See http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...018#post542018 a couple of posts back on this thread. My mouse button works with the remote.conf I posted. You appear to have a different remote with yours, thus may need a different remote.conf. Unfortunately I am unable to help with you with that. Sorry.
jjbull I know the community portal website sometimes gives that error message as it is sometimes very slow (I guess the request times out). The TV Addons one should work though. I assume your typing in http://fusion.?????.ag and not just fusion.??????.ag (Im not posting the full link due to possible forum rules). I've not seen that board before. Can you make a post about it on the All Black MXQ directory thread on this forum. Thanks.
Please lets keep this thread mainly to do with Openelec. Thanks

TheRealJohnGalt
I'm using your OE6 firmware on a beelink MXQ and i didn't test that so far but it seems that there's no sound on the audio jack output.
I can't test sound through hdmi as i don't have a tv set, i'm currently plugged into a monitor with hdmi but the monitor has no sound so it should say so to the hdmi master..
The audio output settings in kodi is grayed out and shows "AML-M8AUDIO, S/PDIF" so i can't switch to analog stereo .
I'll try to test it with one of kszaq images, but i'm currently also testing openvpn and deluged torrent so one thing at a time..
thx

Hi. I understand that this is a topic mainly focused on development but since it is so big (100 pages long) maybe some of you can help me out summarizing it.
Which android tv box should I buy to run these OE images? I am looking for the cheaper but yet 100% (or close) compliant with this OE. Also I'd like to know if there are any caveats/issues on such tv box and I'd like to buy it from CE so that I don't have customs' issues. What are my options?
Thanks in advance.

The cheapest (a few euros cheaper really) will be the All Black MXQ, but as you've read this thread thoroughly you'll have understood that those boxes come in a rather wide variety of board revisions and wifi chipsets which does not help compatibility with the firmwares available.
But there seem to have more Black MXQ firmwares available than Beelink ones, i'm not sure but this may be the only place with Beelink firmwares, i don't know if our russian friends released a firmware yet.
I can't really tell you about the "runtime" caveats as i'm not a kodi user and actually don't use those boxes to watch media, but from what i've seen they work pretty well and this OE6 is damn right stable and fast (34MB footprint without kodi !).
The problems i have read about are part Kodi part lack of Amlogic support, such as HD audio passthrough, maybe deinterlacing as stated right above, although i believe deint can be achieved using software decoders (depending on your cpu and video of course).
As i described above with TheRealJohnGalt firmware i don't have audio out on the stereo jack, there also may be some bugs in the h265 decoder (i have not tested a single h265 video)..
If you wan't to buy from china i don't think you'll have to fear any customs charges, never had any on my packages using regular "free" shipping, you will get them using express shipping though (a word of advise, do not use China post if you can avoid it, always prefer HK Post, Singapore Post etc). Here we can also buy from EU warehouses (gearbest, bangood ..) it's more expensive but no taxes guaranteed.
hope it helped.

And get this cable that supports CEC control :
Then you will use the ROM's provided in this thread for "MK808B Plus"
Specifically these exact ROM's:
Bootloader - http://s805.eu/releases/5.95.5.2/Boo...bootloader.zip
NAND Flash Openelec (5.95.5.2) - http://s805.eu/releases/5.95.5.2/NAN...m-5.95.5.2.zip
Extract those 2 .zips to a SD Card and put it in the MK808B Plus when it arrives. When powering on the stick you must use the "toothpick" method to boot into recovery...After about 30 seconds the stick will reset with Openelec flashed to the NAND. You can then remove the SD Card and have fun!
