When I try to setup oe for sd boot I have used win32imagamaker on my windows 10 pc which seems to complete with no errors. Do I need to copy the u_boot.bin from factory fw onto sd to get it to boot? Or have I done everything correctly and it's just a simple case of my device not being able to run oe. It is an all black mxq box. Info on mobo isxq s805 v3_1. Cheers for the response by the way kszaq 😃
If you reinsert that SD card to your PC, there's one 512MB partition on it with 3 files as per instructions, there is no need to put anything else on that card. After using toothpick you should be able to boot from that card. If your device is stuck on MXQ logo, it means it can't read/boot the kernel. To debug it, you need to hook up serial console and get me the output.

Edit: Can you try if 6.0.3.1 release (SD) boots on your box?

No idea how to get serial connection for debugging sorry. And I will give 6.3.0.1 a go when I get a chance and report back to you 👍

EDIT: Just make sure you use the SD card versions and follow the image copy instructions which mean you need to use the Windows image utility.

EDIT 2: The versions in your post are not the SD card versions by the way!

I have a box S805 I tested your build 6.0.3.6 it worked but I have problems with no HDMI audio.
Strangely, when I unplug and reconnect the HDMI audio has normal
I'm want to compile your source , What advice would you give me?
I have no experience in debugging device, hints help me !
          Thank you !
This is the log when I unplug and reconnect the HDMI

kszaq Here is the Device Tree on my box
            please help

hungphutho To recompile you need to know what changes you want to make. To change device tree there is no need to recompile. Just follow the guides you can Google and replace kernel.img on SD card.

And first, select SPDIF output in Kodi options and see if it works.

Oke, so i tried the SD-Card way.

What i did was the following:
Download the HD18Q and MXQ release from here: http://s805.eu/releases/6.95.1.3/SD/

I could not unpack these files, only remove the .xz on the end so it becomes a .img file.
Then i first tried with the HD18Q image en wrote it to a MicroSD.
MicroSD in the M12, boot with Restore button pressed (at the AV-Port)
Tehn get in the Android recovery menu, i choose reboot.
Nothing happens, i see Android starting again.

Then tried the same with MXQ and again the same result.

Does this mean the images are not compatible or did i do something wrong?

As i had to unpack it, but Winrar can't unack it, it says the file is damaged.
Also i dont see 3 files mentioned on the SD card after writing the image.

                UPDATE:

Had to unpack with 7ZIP,,,, now will try again.... had to google first ''how to unpack .xz on windows''

Good news, it work with HD18Q image!
Wifi also works, Audio also ok (did not test HD Audio yet)
Bleutooth doesnt work (cant find the adapter), but i dont use it so no problem.

Now a question, i used a class 6 MicroSD, found it a little laggy,,
But i like the dual boot option, and the fact it is completely safe.

What is the big difference between booting from NAND or SD?
i guess the speed is better via the NAND, right?

If using a faster MicroSD card, can it match the same speed and stability as when booting from NAND?
If yes, what MicroSD do u recommend?

Happy to hear you got it working. Don't run my box from SD so can't comment about possible Micro SD cards. Hey maybe just play with it for a few days and you may decide it's good enough to put on Nand!

My Mk808b Plus is quite as fast on OE booting from Sd as Nvidia Shield on Android running Kodi. I use micro SD Hc class 10 4gb or 8gb size. Must say never tried Nand install, for me is enough as is! And now with an operational and fully functional dual boot! Thanks to kszaq !

Good. Can you collect logs for me right after booting? Instructions in first post.

kostaman I'm just wondering if you've noticed the odd judder on vid playback? K's attempt to sort this is having little effect but I;m wondering if it's because I use the TVaddons setup on my box. I'm thinking of doing a clean install and seeing if without any addons vid playback is smoother. I don't seeing anybody else mentioning the occasional judder so I'm wondering if it's just me!

Hey it's not that bad, just annoying.

My box is working so well i am too scared to UPDATE . Smooth as. No Judder Perfect High Def 1080p 24HZ 23.976fps. Using Adjust refresh rate to match movie in settings.
I have a Sharp Aquos Quatron 70 Inch that Displays The new Information when the refresh rate changes. It Just Works.

OK, think I'll try a clean install. Yes all the refresh rate switching is working fine so it must be something to do with the addons. Can you confirm which version you;re on .1 or .3? Even better is there a specific repo you use for you addons as I would obviously like to put some addons on my box?
