What is exactly your device? You can flash it from cwm recovery without pc, if your device is mk808b or mk808, but if you flash from stock rom you will not get the advantage of 2gb to keep user apks, only 512mb like in stock rom, the rest its the same.

its an mk808b the only issue i am trying to fix is 720p/1080p video doesnot work

im having a go at installing finless 1.7 as we speak

So ive installed 1.7 but not its not able to connect to internet but shows full wifi signal and as connected to server!

and i thought this might save the day

Pls try to define better not able to connect to internet, did you get connection with you WiFi network and enter pass?

Hi, sorry.

i can connect to wi-fi (my hub is next to my mk808b) but it is VERY slow, so slow that I can't control my mouse. I've done a speed test and I get 30 meg?

Coincidentally, I flashed a MK808B to Finless 1.7 couple of weeks ago, and wifi didn't work right, until I completely unplugged the power from it, and started it up again. Been working well since.

Now, my X5 is hooked up through Ethernet, and it very other loses connection which is very weird. Have to click the retry button a bunch times to get it back. Looking to upgrade the stock ROM to Finless 1.7 probably.

Question, Leolas. Couple of messages up, you said something that made me think. So, Bob liked the partition size changes because you then get 2GB vs 512MB for user space (or was it app space?). But... you still *CAN* use the CWM method of installing the ROM. You just don't get the better more favorable partitioning...

Ok, so that might be the case for 1.7. But what about the 2.0 beta ROM, the one that includes Android 4.2.something? Do the sizes of the img's representing what goes into its corresponding partitions, are those size now beyond what they are by default? Or do things become even tighter - BUT it still can work?

I have got the v1.7 ROM since few weeks, but suddenly the device fail to boot properly(loading for a while but 5-6 seconds after it is freeze ).

Power supply! Unplug all the USB peripherals (except power of course). It might boot. The power supply that comes with it, is garbage.

Thanks for the advice, but it won't help . The HDMI output change HD Ready between FULL HD while the device trying to boot.

4.2.2 has diferent partitions size, for example kernel 3.0.36 needed to run 4.2.2 in mk808b(rk903) don't fit in the old system partitions, so need to repartition the device, so a windows pc is needed to do that cause from cwm we can't resize partitions size, at least I dont know how it can be done. Img size is not a ploblem while partitions are bigger than img, otherwise the img dont fit and fails at flash. Data partition is not flashed with anything, so really dont a problem for cwm recovery zips.

Reflash! I've had this constantly but been told no one else has the problem I put it down to xbmc but with 1.6 I have no trouble.
I've tried all three kernels and different xbmc apps and after a few days I need to flash my mk808 again.
Even the recovery gets messed up my I can flash perfectly every time.

And what was your speed with stock rom? If it was the same, think about mod your WiFi anntena.
