MK808 "all models" Finless 1.7

1080p can have problems. As I measured, the mk808 has about 11-12Mb/s connection speed, and many 1080p videos has larger bitrate, which will cause problems.

I checked with speedtest (from market) and it was 25mbit/s (thats my maximum (ISP)), so not limited to 11-12mb/s

Or you are telling that 808 limited, 808B not limited?

OK hang tight. IU am uploading a new system.img now. I made 100% sure I used all drivers etc from MK808 1.6.

Should be about 20 more minutes.

FYI, I did screw up on the MK808 non-B original!

My 1.6 ROM had patched wifi stuff and in 1.7 I used the old wifi stuff from the latest MK808 stock ROM.

So you guys nailed it. I missed something that I had fixed in 1.6 but forgot to put back in 1.7.

Maximum bandwith is about 24Mb/s(checked now in dlna), so should try maximum 10-15Mbps bitrate 1080p movie playback.That is not a problem

SYSTEM 1.7a - Wifi Fix?

OK here is a new system.img 1.7a with all the wifi fixes that I had put in 1.6.

This is ONLY for the MK808 Original (Non-B). It is not for MK808B or any clone! Those do not appear to have issues anyway or need 1.7a update.

This is system 1.7a.
Note I have not updated build.prop yet to reflect this new version since it's only for testing.

Unzip this and put this new system.img into the 1.7 FinlessROM folder replacing the system.img that is in there.
Please reflash new! e.g. erase nand. To be a proper test we need a clean setup!


Let me know if this solves the wifi data rate drop issue. Again this is exactly what I did for the 1.6 ROM so ift should work this time.

EDIT 2: I spoke too soon it works WAY better, but still not as good as 1.6 youtube (on SD) lags a lot tried the same video on my smartphone, my tablet and my PC it loads and plays fine, but on 1.7 it lags about every 5 seconds

Confirmed working, 1.7 non b modell, now show same speed as 1,6 with full erase nand.

Sorry I missed that patch from 1.6. I totally forgot about that issue for MK808 stock ROM from way back then when I first fixed it.

Glad you guys kept pressuring me to re-look

I will update first post with final 1.7a ROM with wifi fix once it is all done.

well it seems its only on my device then since my smartphone, tablet and PC load up the videos fine, and on 1.6 it loads up the videos fine.

I measured my device, and it's only 12Mbit.
May it be because the old, 54Mbps b/g router?
