I measured my device, and it's only 12Mbit.
May it be because the old, 54Mbps b/g router?

I think that's because of that router, I dont'h have the old 54mbps router
(I have a 300Mbps TP-Link WR-841ND)

I updated the ROM download for the MK808 (non-B) with the full new 1.7a ROM.
This fixes wifi slow downs as the posts above talk about.

I have one question. The ROM can be upgraded, or it requires a clean install?

You should be able to upgrade by just flashing system.img and nothing else (nor erase NAND). But if you have problems then it never hurts to full flash.

I ordered yesterday got it today from amazon. I thought I got a non B version and i was going to cancel and get the B version for like 2 bucks more.. but it turn out I got the authentic B.

Play with stock for about 1 hour and then spend about 10 minutes flashing to 1.7. Everything is working so far!


The logitech wireless and mouse (m515) keyboard (k360) work flawless with it. The keyboard has all these fancy function like Home, calculator..etc and it all work with this android! i'm so freaking suprise.

Now I'm just looking for a remote control app on iOs for it. Any suggestion would be great

If u wanna enjoy it more, install xbmc for android and install xbmc remote on iOS. Look for how to connect them on YouTube then enjoy the show
After doing that you can browse xbmc content on your phone and play it directly on TV.

yeah that's the one I am using, and all though initial tests were good, I cannot get it to work with good wifi speed, I just gave up I am back at 1.6 and WiFi is fast, but no matter what I do on 1.7a is slow even with the update... could it be my device? I got it from DX ( http://dx.com/p/mk808-dual-core-andr...tf-hdmi-160535 ) could it be a "clone" or something like that ?

Doesn't fit the display

Hi guys,
I finally got my mk808b (original from geekbuying). I connected it as is (without doing any changes) to my 24" Full HD Dell Computer Display. It is working but the display isn't showing the whole area. Is it possible to make it showing the whole picture?

There is a display setting and there is a screen setting in Settings. The screen setting will let you adjust size

Hello,

since I flashed -successfully- my mk808B with finless 1.7, I can't connect anymore to google services (play store, google+,..) : I receive a message 'error RH-01 receiving information from server'.
I 've tried classical answers : clear infos, create new gmail account, reset clear data cache,.. and re-flashed device (including clearing nand).
Do you have some hints or links to info ?
Nb Everything else is working flawlessly including online apps

its not my work ive just tweaked it to my needs but if you download the full ROM from lewy there is a addon zip there inside is alot of stuff including a .bat file add/remove to the folder the apps you want and edit the .bat file.
If you really want my one i could post it i have my doubts about lewys work any way the ROMs he post seem to have many of bobs updates plus he finally changed the kernel the old one was useless 2dark4u was hiding the info people wanted on the kernel dont no why.

Ethernet freeze

Hello Bob,

First of all youre building very good roms, keep up the good work!!!!

But i have one problem on my MK808, when using a usb ethernet adapter, the rom freezes after a few seconds. This also happend on your older rom's 1,5 and 1,6.

Thank you for all that you have done. I dont know much about anything and by using your tools, roms and whatever else i can use , i have been able to flash 1.7 finless, use cwm, flash the libstagefright. My mk808b is now awesome to use. I had a problem with wifi at first and trying to play videos was a mess but i moved my wifi router closer to the mk808b and now everthing works great. Again thanks for all of this.

Thanks! I have tried Lewy's Hybrid ROM, but I did not found it stable enough, I have lots of hiccups with that, stuttering Youtube videos (not all of them), screen gets blank etc. I am not saying its bad but it might be just me having some problems.
In my opinion, the best ROM is Finless 1.7 with Kizs kernel, again its IMO. I still have WiFi problems with 1.7a, the solution I found is I bought a Netgear WN2000RPT and connect my MK808 with Ethernet cable now my WiFi problems are almost gone, the best solution I found so far. Hey hey, the credits for Bob, thanks but I only try to help, by the moment. Bob is the man who makes all the work with this great rom.
I hope to bring good news with kernel and more drivers for our sticks soon. Working on that now. But no success actually, so more work on that needed.
