MK808 "all models" Finless 1.7

I have one question for bob...
I'm Just currious but wouldn't be easier to make one roms for all 3 variants of mk808(b)(fake) with drivers for all hardwares in the same roms, than make 3 roms every time?

I wish I could! But I cannot because of how the kernel works and thus multiple system.img's are needed

Yes I could actually make a ROM setup like this but the download would be 2GB! That would kill our server bandwidth as well as piss people off wanting only the needed ROM for thier device and having to download a huge file.

However.... it's a good point! Maybe think out of the box and try a WEB update or something......

Can anyone recommend me an idiot proof tutorial how to flash recovery and finless rom. from the beginning to the end.
I'm getting my MK808 next week. I have a lot experience in rooting and flashing mobile phones, but for this MK808 i have no clue.

Is this 1.7 includes libstagefr...?
Yesterday i watched movie(1080p,720p) over dlna(wifi) without any problems.
Today with mxplayer (freezes with all movies),
(Bsplayer freezes too)
with rockplayer2 its ok(even el barco and 1080p), but no subtitle(cant load from file like mx player)
(if i choose to burn in serviio settings then i have subtitle but in that case hw decoding is not possible and a 720p video is unplayable lag).

Any ides?
Should I reflash, or install that libstagefreight?

Welcome here, inside the compressed file for your device made by finless you have a readme file, there he explains how make the process, read it and fell free to ask if you dont understand something. You can read too in general tv subforun a FAQ with some interesting information about those devices.

USB - ETH GBit Adapter Kernel Driver

Dear Friends,

I thank you in advance for your help / your time.

I recently bought via Dx.com the Arkview Gbit USB/ETH adapter as I've seen compliant with Mk808.
This device "was" based on an ASIX AX88178 but, due to recently hardware update, now the product (like the one I've received) come with the chipset SMSC LAN7500, which is not yet included in the Android stock kernel.. so...the device is not working with Mk808.

I try to find out what I have to do, and I find at the following link the Android Driver for this adapter.

I'm not a programmer but reading via Web I undestood that I've to compile (how?) this driver obtaining an .ko file and as a second step, put this file somewhere in the Mk808 ( just copy? in which directory?).

I was having problems getting 1.7 beta installed on my original mk808. when I would reboot on my older 720p TV there was no image. after flashing several times I was about to go back to 1.6 ROM when I thought I would check the HDMI display setting. it was set at 1080p even though I flashed your default for 720p.

is it possible that your 1.7 default has the display set at 1080p in settings? this could cause problems for users with 720p max display at first boot.

I just got my geekbuying MK808 with a green motherboard today and I've flashed v1.7a across. Is there a way to fool 4oD and iplayer into thinking they're not connected to a TV?

When the device boots it is suppose to read the EDID from the TV and set itself correctly. 1.7 should be doing it the same as 1.6. Nothing should have changed here as this function is in the kernel. Are you using a different kernel maybe?

The old "EDID" excuse? Huh? It's been awhile since I worked with display resolutions with my home theater. You are probably right and the TV I used was an old "pandigital" and probably didn't resolve the EDID handshake with the mk808. Interesting that 1.6 loaded 1st time but this was after booting up on a different TV and manually resetting the HDMI mode to 720p on the 1st TV. So what is the best practice? Do you advise Setting Device, Screen HDMI Mode manually to match the 720p to match the default image setting of 720pROM or don't adjust anything and leave as is? Will either make any difference in performance? Thanks again for the great work!
