No, I would suggest, if you are going to use xbmc, that you do flash the Finless 1.7a because it adds hardware accelerated videodecoding files that improve xbmc's use of mx player, etc. immensely. Use the xbmcandroid.com settop box version of xbmc with external player. Works great for me.

Why is Chrome so awful now?

Did Google muck up Chrome or is the stick giving Chrome bad hardware I.d.?

I am getting pop-ups to install iPad apps and some websites redirect to iPad URLs.

I get tapatalk popups on my Nexus 7 and I've never seen an iPad URL using Chrome. I'm wondering if it's the stick or the browser. I'm getting half the page turning blue now when I mouse click on a page too.

What does the 1.7a tell websites it is?

Even my laptop on W7 is returning a weird User Agent ?? My laptop is returning Mozilla on Windows, but my MX1 is returning Mozilla on an iPad.. ???? Both from Chrome...

I guess it could be weirder. This website offered to take me to the app-store to install the Tapatalk iPad app. I clicked ok. I would have spit out my drink if Apple App-store opened...

I flashed the rom last night. Now it says it is 1.7a. But I can't find where to select the option to flash it in 1080p ? I left all off them checked. I am only able to see only 720p kernel...how do I choose the 1080p?
I am attaching an image of what I see.

I think you click on the empty box to the right hand side of 720p kernel & that will open a browse computer window.

Some people said just update wlan.ko can fix the wifi mac address bug.
I will try it when I get home.

1) Download wlan.zip
2) unzip wlan.zip to microsd
3) use file manager root
4) rename wkan.ko to wlan.ko.old on /system/lib/modules
5) copy on microsd wlan.ko in /system/lib/modules
6) reboot

I've tryed this but don't work for me.
I've replaced the folder /system/lib/modules of 1.7a version with the 1.5 version, but 1.7a don't boot with this drivers...

I think that I must go back to 1.5 version

1) Try 1.7B which is the full wifi fix from Imito. It maybe that it is setting something in the wifi chip that is not happening with 1.7a.
2) Try the kernel from 1.5 ROM with everything else from 1.7a

What gets me is why do I not see this on my MX1?

1.7b Rom...... No IP, no Mac, no bluetooth
1.7b with 1.5 kernel..... No IP, no Mac, no bluetooth
1.7a with 1.5 kernel..... All work OK after a reboot...

OK so that explains it! Imito's latest kernels do not set the MAC! The older kernel used in the 1.5 ROM did not have this problem. So it is not my ROM but Imito's latests kernels.
