Tronsmart TV Box Ara X5 in August with Cherry Trail Z8300 Windows 10

Have been trying out a couple of KK and LP Android ROM's and was rather surprised at how well they generally ran but WiFi, Bluetooth and Sound don't work, although Ethernet was fine.

I would happily have put up with WiFi and BT not working but sound is a deal breaker.

More research to be done.

I have not played that episode with kodi yet. Will try next week. But everything else is really good. I only use it to stream so I don't mind other possible issues. That Android works looks promising, perhaps I will try it in the future when kodi/pulsar are more compatible with lollipop.

Will someone that has one of these please try to play a streaming DTS 5.1 movie on Kodi using HDMI passthrough and let us know if your reciver decodes the audio properly and there are no video issues. Thanks

I don't have a receiver myself but I did take mine X5 round to a friends the other day to have a very quick test and 5.1 output was shown on his receiver.

Gave xbox one game streaming a try just now and it ran smooth af. Played Forza 6 for approx half an hour and the box didnt even hardly get warm. I have a review on this and steam game streaming im working on now but this thing is pretty bad ass I must say

Thanks for that information, I have one on order and gaming was one of the things I wish to try. First off, I am not a gamer, I have a PS3, but never used it for gaming, same thing for the Xbox 360 I had before it died, no games played on it, just used those boxes to stream media from my computer years ago.

However, years ago I played some computer games using my keyboard and mouse, and going to see if I can play them on this new intel box running Windows 10. I have converted several of my older games so I don't need to have my game CD in the CD player in order to play the game, hope this works with Windows 10 on this new box. I have Far Cry, Call of Duty, etc. was never any good at it, and have never finished any of the games, too hard for me, hahaha. I am going to give it a shot just for the heck of it.

Used my xbox one controller connected with a micro usb cable. I need to pick up some batteries so I can try it out wireless but wired the performance was great and it was very playable

Hi all

A few feed back after some hours with the beast :

+ The videos plays pretty well with the windows 10 stock media player, even Audio passthrough (DTS and Dolby) through HDMI works perfect (after one or two reboot of the box - windows update ?). I watch movies mostly in 720p through my local network, and every thing is OK. I did'nt try Kodi yet
+ Console emulation Retroarch http://www.libretro.com/ seems to work pretty well too, except I had to copy a D3DX9_43.dll from an other computer, because it's missing in Windwos 10 and I did'nt manage to install older Direct X version like DirectX 9.0c. I tried during a few minutes Super Nintendo, Megadrive and N64 games with sucess @ 60 fps or 50fps depending of the game.

BUT

- I spend MANY hours (in fact most of the time I had on the box) trying to connect a PS3 controller through Bluetooth. I've never managed to do it. I'm really sad because It's my best friend for Arcade and Retro gaming because of the very good directionnal cross compared to the other controllers I have. I use now a XBox360 USB controller, but the directionnal cross is very very very bad. So if somebody manage to connect a PS3 controller through Bluetooth, please share how you manage to do it !
- I did'nt manage to "connect-to-the-computer-remotely" with the windows tool. It's sad because sometime I want to use the box, but my wife want to watch TV !

Hello,

The product seems great but I have issues for the BT :
I have a small BT keyboard which work fine with my old laptop.
The ara can detect it (but it takes time) but when connected it works only for 20s, you have to go back to the windows bt research window to get it back a bit, but unstable ... I saw the keyboard "connected" status but once it glimbsed to driver pb.

Anyone, maybe related to the post above.

Will try with the broadcom tool. Windows says the driver is up to date ...
