I doubt it, there will be tons of them out of china
Its hardly a brand name, so I'd be surprised

But there is, if you actually look, on the main page information on differentiating possible clones.
Open it up and take a look. No one can do this for you but you.

I had a look at mine and its the genuine one

I can't believe I didn't think of this before, but you know how these things work, the brain can work slowly at time

I've taken it totally forgranted that I'm using a HP dock which massively improves the network quality, no wifi needed

Then it came to me when I was looking at the explorer actually, realising that the network is exposed but also saw USB.... and its got one of those built in partitions doesn't it !
got me thinking of the possibility that the connection on boot could be interfering....

Well, guess what.... I unplugged it and rebooted and plugged the keyb received into the usb....the NAND just showed up

So anyone missing their NAND....don't overlook any connected storage you might not realise you have built into any devices that can throw off the boot up partitioning assignment !

thanks daytona, i finally got it flashed. man, i just had to try multiple computers until u find a right one. anyway, with 2.1, i get blank/incorrect format screen. But with 1.7 it works perfect. it looks like though, i can only do 720p 60 setting thru hdmi setting depite 1080p was chosen during installation. My tv can do 1080p so that's kinda bumper.

I am satisfied with 1.7 rom, but is there true benefit of flashing it with 2.1 over 1.7 though?

If the device is unknown in Windows then you just have to point to the drivers, simple.

You then format the IDB memory, and then flash (no need to reboot to flash)

        That worked for me.

Now if only I could get someone to help me about my nand memory issues !

          Hi!

What is the Antutu score with 720p kernel?

          Thanks!

Slightly off topic, I've got a rk3188 device with a stock 4.2.2 rom that I was able to root, everything works for the most part. But hulu won't play shows, or will start, then give a blank screen with audio, but keeps giving an error. And the video using mx pro and bs player is a little choppy. Any suggestions?

                  Hi.
Just noticed a huge problem... installed the rom, selected the parameter for the bigger space, leaving 396mb space. Now I've noticed the rom detects those 396mb as sdcard and my real sd card as "external_sd". Bottom line, I can't download games cause they go or install to sd card and not external_sd. :-( and sdcard is full cause some apps already used the space on it.
I've configured all my apps, the tv stick as I wanted. Don't want to waste 3 days and redo all over again.
Is it possible to make this rom detect my real sdcard so I can use it?

Nvm guys. Just discovered that changing the vold.fstab works ;-)

Cool! Don't you love it when the light bulb comes on :-) Yeah, it does make sense to not have any other storage attached when playing with it, you never know how the flash tool will see that. I'm glad you got it going! Just minimum attachments when flashing, only the storage that is being worked on. Might be something the Devs may want to add to the instructions.

                          Power requirements for 1080p

I don't have any exact specs, but I had a problem with full HD, 1080p video output, and solved it, and want to post it here in case someone else runs into the same thing. I got everything going with this ROM, using the 1080p kernel, and everything seemed good, until I really started using it like a cable box and watched everything through it, using TWC TC app, from Time Warner cable-my provider, it lets TWC customers basically watch everything they subscribe to over the internet on the Android device of their choice, and seemed like the mk808b was made for this app. But, fairly frequently, I would completely loose video, to where my TV would flash its error message, "No video input" on the screen. In settings-screen-HDMI mode I had it set at 1920x1080p-60, and the picture looked great, when it was there. Setting it to 1280x720p-60 made it not loose video output quite as often, but still enough to make it unacceptable. While getting ready to restore a NAND of another ROM, I plugged the OTG port into my PC to copy the backup to the SD card, and I had to leave and do something else. When I came back, I wanted to confirm the problem again before blowing it away-and the problem didn't exist anymore. I knew the device also got power from the OTG port if it's available, you can power it from there only with the PC USB power. Unplugged the cable from the OTG port, with the main power still plugged in, to the adapter it came with, and the problem came back, frequent total loss of video. Not wanting to leave it plugged into my PC all the time, I added an old phone charger AC-USB adapter(got several laying around, you can buy OEM ones from Amazon for around $5) rated at 5.3v 1amp. Sure enough, the problem went away again. I haven't tried this with any video source that isn't coming in over wifi, like external HDD, or flash drive, or SDcard reader, or the external SD card slot, just TWC TV and HBO GO, both coming over the internet. I have been running it non-stop on the TWC TV app for over 24 hours now, just turning off the TV when I stop watching, not the mk808b, with no problems. Considering that wifi draws considerable power, Dual core processor, and the video processor, it makes sens that it could get short on power just from one USB port. The USB powered HDD's and USB powered DVD burners always come with dual USB cables, the second connector to draw power from another port. I use a good quality powered 7 port hub on the regular USB host port, with a 2.5 amp AC adapter, for the cordless keyboard/mouse radio, webcam(I love Skype on a TV), storage. The OEM AC-USB power adapter that came with it is rated 5v 2000 milliamps, so the extra amp I'm giving it through the OTG port really makes a difference, or the OEM adapter is outputting below spec, I haven't taken a multimeter to it yet. I'm going to test further with some other .7 to 2.1 amp adapters I have laying around just to see what happens. My guess is though that as we push the video on these devices harder while getting full power WIFI, power requirements are going to go up. Cable lengths and wire gauge will also make a difference(remember Ohm's law from Basic Electricity class)

I think Hulu won't run on rooted devices. Try hiding root with a feature in the SU app or one of the apps like voodoo that can mask root for you.

                              How did you do that?

                              Thank you!

                              EDIT:

I used this method and this is working fine:

Hulu runs great on my rooted mk808b. But on this device, it won't work :'(
