I unbrick m8s HOW TO included - now i need firmware ROM M8S model: KCA-003

You mention in your set up that you soldered two pins. Which two pins are you referring to??

Between HDMI USB port , see on the picture you can see a jumper . But in this model, this did not help me .

I tryning diferent firmwares , but I always...dont have wifi :/
If you get the firmware , I can count on you ? Now you can try to prepare the SD card as I described up this topic. If you need a file , I will try to share the evening.

Thanks for info... iwill try that procedure with sd card tommorow, trying to download the files you provided. Also had no wifi on all previos firmwares and ethernet cutting out from some of them. Still waiting for that firmware from seller, but will provide it as soon as i will get it hopfully. By the way, on wich corner of nand flash did you connect those pins...dont really understand which are 29 and 30

Got the box back to life, thanks friend, you are the legend. Have megatron firmware on it, still no wifi but at least its working...now only waiting for a firmware from supplyier...its been two days now, hopefully will get it...ill keep posting anyway

Still no reply from seller..will wait for another few days, if not will leave very negative feedback....Now i am on beelink mx3 plus firmware...still no wifi no bluetooth....is there some custom rom for this device around??

I've been searching until I find one that runs wifi
I do not know how it is with appending drivers to the kernel , unless it is not easy . Maybe there is someone who will help us.

I think its something to do with our pcb kca-003, which is different from other m8s boxes .And there is still no reply from seller...sad story. Can you provide that firmware which have wifi?

Hello, i got some version as your box , on board it is: M8 V8_1 20150418 - I am wondering if it is not just fake M8S and reality it is just M8. Becouse i order from aliexpress M8S. But on board it is M8 V8_1 20150418, so i am just wondering if it is M8 or M8S.

Also after maybe 5hours of testing my device cannot boot after reboot. Look on picture, this i have on boot screen even 1hour and device not boot at all.

I did not test any firmware or anything. This problems i have on original factory firmware.... and now i am also scared to flash anything.

Try another TV with High resolution, if not working....
1. The layout overheated , which I doubt .
2. Advertise device provider

It looks to me like he is on inadequate resolution for your screen , so connect to another TV with another cable.
If this does not help , and You do not want to return the equipment to the supplier , I will try to new rom - I think i have rom somewhere on my disk . I look , but this is a last resort .

Thanks for the instructions, but it didn't worked for me. I have bricked my M8S (more details in http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...are-box/page13 post # 189 ) and I was sure that could easily "unbrick" it but neither of the methods worked for me:
- Boot card with different U-boot.bin and ROMs - both zip (and some other files) and img (with .ini) - no reaction, no blinking of the blue LED... Shortening NAND pins - the same.
- USB - AML Burning Tools-not detected any device with or without NAND pins 29 i 39 shortened.
I am very embarassed, I have flashed many devices before, but now it is very strange. I think that when shorten the two pins of NAND chip, I just force the CPU to read from somewhere else- SD or USB temporary (or even Ethernet which flashes when cable connected). I have made a bootable SD card and even if the ROM is not the best one, it should at least try to read and the blue LED would start blinking and Green android would appear on the tv. At least when the u-boot is the right one. The u-boot itself means universal bootloader. I think it is the same for all devices based on this CPU (are they different for S812, S802 and S805????). I even thought that the CPU is not S812 ( it is a glued heatsink) but probably S805 (much cheaper), I tried with uboot from some S805 firmware. The same. It is for sure Amlogic and have H.265 hardware decoding ( I test it on the web). What do you think? What could be wrong?

- the RAM is not 2G but 1G ( I can't recognise the 4 chips -if they are 256MB or 512MB -google don't know the type)
- The CPU is damaged ( permanent blue LED when powered, red SPDIF optics, LAN blinking LEDs when connected)
- I am not making it in the right way - I hold the reset button about 1minutes, probably more?
-something else.
