I was watching kodi and my MXQ box just went black. In the pic is the errors I get trying to reset to factory or update. Nothing will work but I can get to this screen and that's it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Your box is currently in factory restore mode from your previous Android OS.
You will have to do a Clean Install of the Correct OpenElec Version that was previously flashed.
As to how you got to recovery i am guessing you used the toothpick method.
As to what happened relating to a blank screen whilst watching kodi ? No idea.

Note. I used the wrong u_boot.bin when I first tried to update my device and after some more reading I realized I had to use the .bin in this rar to update of sd card. Also make sure you copy this .bin file to the directory of sd boot card maker

Plasma - I have the exact same box and board as yours. Any progress on finding that factory ROM, or anything at all that will bring these back to life? OpeElec seems risky for these, and I agree it's desirable to keep the Amdroid features too.

Can someone help me find a working rom for this board. I am able to get into the recovery but i just cant find the right rom files. I've flashed many roms via the recovery mode but they all give me a blank screen with a constant blue light sometimes red. I dont know if i did something right or i have the wrong files. If anyone know which files i need for my box please provide a link to the rom that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like you have one of the HD18Q boxes. Try the firmware over on this forum, it's not a stock firmware but it says it should work for all HD18Q variants.

The file linked says over 800 megs but is a 13 gig apk when downloaded
