Please check if you still have a problem with the resolution in updated firmware.
You can try to root your device through 'Accessibility Options' then install Catlog from Google Play.
Run it then change the resolution to 1080p@60hz and upload the complete log to a file.
Then restart the device and also get a catlog.
Maybe it will show if the setting isn't saved and the problem can be identified.
There were several changes to HDMI & video drivers so something might work differently now then from v1.5 firmware.

It is possible on LP but I'm not sure how.
MM firmware supports Xposed fully, so when MM is more stable it will be supported in those new ROM's.

unfortunately , hdmi switching back to 4k issue still exists (and now and as compared to the previous 1.6 , beelink R89 doesn't switch off via reboot apps).... can't even access any app (including logcat) after changing the resolution to 1080p due to hdmi switching regression.
but the video playback is the most amazing i've ever seen (i mean OMG....).... . thanks bro

Hi Mo , ive still got that booting problem where I have to unplug my hdmi cable 2 or 3 times in order to get the NT-V6 splash screen , as for the IR remote , navigation is extremely slow.

Try to do a 'EraseFlash' and then 'Upgrade' to flash the firmware.
If your tv has more than one HDMI port, try to use another one, some have deep color and others have lesser specifications.
You might also try to use a different HDMI cable just to test.

For the IR remote, you have to point it directly at the tv box, also try to move the sides of the tv box.
What remote do you use, the thin black one or the one with a round shape and red/orange direction keys?
An MX3 or similar airmouse will help you a lot, can get one for about $10 and it will help you far more to type or control the mouse pointer.
You can also install 'LeHome Assistant' app from Android Settings to control the tv box from your Android/IOS phone through wifi.

You can send me a link, picture or small video of the HDMI cable and booting problem then I can better understand or perhaps see something that might help.

I think the problem might be that it wants to set a higher resolution than what your tv supports and unplugging the HDMI cable resets the resolution.
I am going to test something and will let you know.
            I think it only effects 4k tv's.
The new firmware contain hundreds of changes to HDMI and video drivers so there will be some new problems to identify and fix that didn't show in older firmware.

Think you could be right regarding 4k tv's , I tried it with 3 different hdmi cables in 3 different ports and the same situation on all 3 . Light bulb is gone though lol .

tried all that bro but to no avail.... i'm very sure that it's just a matter of time for all those remaining issues to be fixed... i really don't know how you were able to come up with such a jaw dropping video playback (even the minor video stutter using mxplayer , that was present in the previous 1.6 firmware vanished)... DTS and Dolby are working via spdif passthrough in both mxplayer and kodi... blessings man , blessings....

I will upload a v1.6a firmware soon that will fix
the LED light, USB OTG & add a much improved Kodi.
For the 1080p resolution saving bug, I hope to get a solution soon, I think I know what the problem is but don't want to build firmware from scratch again before I'm sure.

Please provide any other feedback or bugs so I can also add those improvements if any.

Anyone tested Netflix, is sound in sync or also slightly out of sync?
Please upload a logcat and dmesg if out of sync.
I already have a logs for UT3 firmware, just want to make sure since this firmware contains different audio/video changes.

                      New Firmware v1.7 released

                      https://mega.nz/#!oEsCkRza!A2ydjEolNuM1o4RtsubI9hJNQX4VXnQ4R1XT_6lZgIs
                      Password: nagrace
                      Unzip with 7zip

                      Kodi changes
                      New NTMC Kodi
Changed app's complete name to NTMC in menus, app install location is now /sdcard/data/com.ntmc.xbmc
Fixed SD mpeg 1/2 video playback
HD mpeg 1/2 now play correctly with RKCodec
Press menu button on video to use 'Play using' to play video with RK Video Player or MXPlayer instead
                      RKMC + SPMC changes merged
                      Better cache and timeout settings
Optimal Audio pass-through settings set by default. Just enable correct receiver capabilities in audio settings and in Android Settings enable 'HDMI Bitsream'
Latest custom lbrtmp.so file required for some streaming services
Extra Expert menu setting under 'NTMC' menu - Allow playback with Mediacodec
                      - Set to HD and under, It helps to solve seek problems in some online streams like Youtube
Can set it to other options also, but 1080p/4K videos play better with RKCodec if this settings is set for resolutions below it for smoother video playback and correct HD audio pass-through support. HD audio is usually not present in HD and below resolutions so it is not a problem
                      - Helps with some TS video files that don't play with RKCodec
                      - IPTV live streams that don't have a beginning and end position like a movie or tv show is more smooth and it's audio is also in sync then. With RKCodec some live streams loose audio sync if buffering several times

                      Changes
Hide battery menu and notification icon
Fix system stutter cased by USB audio devices
Remote - Solve the issues of some remote controllers cannot continuously press
                      Change bluetooth name to HPH_NT-V6
Long press menu button to hide/unhide statusbar
                      Animations turned off
Some pre-installed apps removed and replaced by better apps, file manager, gallery etc.
Removed smspush app to free around 30MB memory usage
                      New Google apps

Reverted 4K tv setting with 1080p resolution set.
Please test if 1080p resolution is now remembered after reboot.
If there is still a problem, I will try something else

thank you mo123 for your extreme effort. so appreciated bro....
unfortunately , the 1080p resolution regression is still existing (keeps on reverting back to 4k resolution after reboot).
also keeps on restarting the box whenever the turn-off option is selected on beelink R89
                        blesings..........

mo123's LP roms' regression : the resolution issue
wasser's MM roms' regression : SPDIF passthrough via kodi and spmc.

                                Hi Mo.
The IR is a lot better!
Unfortunately the Netflix audio is still delayed by around a second, as is the case with the Ugoos 3.0.7 ROM. I will PM you the logs.
One bug that is back is the repeating keys with the mini keyboard if it is plugged into anything but the OTG port.
