please sandog, don't take my message as offense, but if you read well my messages before answering you can give me a better answer.

i wrote that my problem with remote is to turn ON device and, as is written in post 705, this is impossibile with this rom, while it is possible to turn device OFF.
as written in the previous message that you answered, i have a nexbox A95X but same with the remote problem.

is there a way to just mod the stock rom to have root, navbar and notifications on nexbox A95X?

You should be able to move this one over to your stock Rom. Following cnx artical. But keep your remote.conf

Use your stock as a base and move over the 5 folders.

i had very few time to do and test it but it worked, i have applied on stock firmware last update following the guides and i have stock rom with root.
if you want later i can share more details, now i must run away to work.

if you want you can tell me next steps to try to have navbar and notifications.

i had more time to more experiments:

i merged these /system folders from the tronsmart firmware to my rom: app framework fonts media priv-app
but i obtained a not booting system (it was a S905 firmware, while i have S905X)

after i merged only framework from your frankenstein rom to mine obtaining nothing new

then i merged both framework and priv-app and i had both navbar and notifications, both of them are not really working properly and i have no recent files list.
the problem is that at this point i have again the problem with language: every few minutes the language changes to something like korean.

so i stopped.

maybe i need another S905X firmware to use in this experiment

any suggestion?

Sorry I wasn't clear I meant take the 5 folders from Frankenstein and put on top of your stock. That was just an example to give you an idea

with the 5 folders from frankenstein it boots and reach the setup program (screen, wifi and remote setup) and after that it soft reboots and in few seconds is back to the setup screen again...
setting up everything again gives another soft reboot...
also: wifi seems not recognized

I have a big issue with this rom on my M8SII: the device will go in BSOD after some minutes I turn off the TV or watch another hdmi.
I have already tried apps like Stay Awake with no result. I am sure it is rom related (at least on my device) since the stock firmware worked well. Any ideas?

and i have a fully working A95X rom with
- navbar
- notifications
- recent apps
- root
- remote control working and turning on the device

but.... i have the language problem: the system boots with an unknown (for me) asian language and, even if i change it to italian, it goes back to that asian language after something like 10 minutes also without a reboot.

any solution to this?

Need to find out where the default language is set I have a feeling and set to your language. Not sure where that is. I believe it was in build.prop but don't think it is there any more

Not sure. You could try. I would try with bluesman's uboot. From his mod. And go from there. I would stick with same processor when moving stuff around.

hi there i have already shipped back my Mini M8 II S905x boxes didnt bother fighting up with all the bugs and almost perfect root experiences thanks for all your input back to my m12pros S905 already rooted

The CEC language issue is apparently an Android 6.0 bug. It has been reported on Nvidia shield https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/919901/shield-android-tv/language-is-going-to-chinese-by-itself-/1/

and even on the Nexus player http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-player/help/changing-languages-automatically-t3228098

There is a fix of sorts for the nexus player but it requires an adb step.https://github.com/loadrunner/language-reset
(cant test it since my s905x box hasn't arrived )
