I installed version 1.2.0 1080p final and I was a little disappointed. This version is not much different from the original firmware of cs918. Including the behavior of the shutdown button is the same. I click shutdown and it just sits in standby, move the mouse, it turns on again =( Is that right?

Version 2.0.2 is great, shutdown really works, but does not have tv out and the remote control that came with the cs918 does not work =(

And I'd like to tell me how I open storage on the PC to include external apk files and install them.

Indeed thank you so much for your wonderful work. Great Rom working so well with CS918. I really love the true 1080p res. Except for the IR remote controller every other features are simply awesome. It will be perfect if you could fix the IR remote controller issue in your next release. Really love all you guys for making this box so enjoyable! Keep up the good work.. we appreciate very much!!

no luck with DTS, i connect the CS918 with optical kabel, switched the receiver to optical input
and tried every possible sound settings followed by a reboot. No DTS with every player, only noise and most of the times players crashed or system reboots while playing DTS files.

Switched back to HDMI sound settings and everything works, only DTS sound = stereo.
Not a real big problem, i have only 10 Videos with DTS...

There are too many IR remote control variation to address them in single firmware version and manage more of them is simply PITA . If you have got remote version with only multimedia keys then you have no luck .

My version is quite easy to configure as I like by editing corresponding file: /system/user/keylayout/rkxx-remote.kl. I somehow manage to get all keys working but I cannot force Android to execute function exactly like it is written on these keys. Especially MEDIA (RED) and TV (GREEN) because there is no adequate key code for these functions. In original firmware there was probably some application to menage that.

I'm currently flashing newest firmware version (2.0.3) to my box and when I finish successfully I will write which lines to change and what key codes and scan codes to use.

Thanks so much for your kind assistance. By the way I have provided the link to my CS918 stock rom and 2 pages back you could also find the mirror to it. In this rom the IR remote controller works perfectly well. I am not sure if you could made reference to this Rom in determining the key and scan codes being used. Well just hope that this rom could be of help to you too. Meanwhile look forward to your instruction and advise.

I confirm that passthru s/pdif is not stable:
+ can work very well with some videos
+ can produce lag: video stops, receiver switch from dts to lpcm, then return to dts then the video restarts for a few seconds and stop again and again.
+ can output raw format but seen as lpcm by the receiver and then produce awful noises.


Thoses videos with passthru issues plays fine in downmix mode (but only 2.0 dpl).

This passthru issu can be reproduce on stock player and mx player.

I should test with fw 2.0.2 because I dont remenber of such problem with this firmware...

I'm affraid that you misunderstood me. I can only contribute by proposing changes in HFW firmware when I have exact same hardware in this case remote control. But I don't. Yours is almost exact opposite to my version which doesn't have any multimedia buttons besides "change track".

But not all hope is lost. IF driver for RK remote builded into "wasser's" kernel is compatible with your remote control then you may only need modyfied configuration which mean associate Scan Codes with appropriate Android Key Codes to do "something" usefull. It might be imposible to find working solution from Internet (stray rkxx_remote.kl file) because after last changes to RK remote driver in "wasser's" kernel Scan Codes are different. Without actual identical remote control no one can supply proper configuration file for you.

I suppose that you own similar remote controler as prism? It might be not possible to get it working in these modyfied firmwares as it is now. If there are no Scan Codes generated by RK remote driver build into the kernel then it is simply impossible to do anything about this problem.

Outstanding ROM my compliments to everyone involved making it to what it is now!

Love the 720-1080p switch and it runs very fast.
I have seen no video stutters so far, dts seems to be working ok on passthrough but only started testing just yet.

Keep up the good work you guys are awesome!
