I have clicked upgrade instead of restore by mistake. ...

you can try using finless tools.
download this package http://d-h.st/BJt

1. open ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe on pc
2 connect k-r42 to pc using usb otg cable>connect power
3. boot to android
4. go to android setting>development settings>turn on usb debbuging
5. go to usb and check connect to pc
6. on pc in ROM_Flash_Tool_137 click reboot to safe mode
7. now open RKBatchTool.exe
8. there should be green box on screen.
9. now folow the normal install of rom. (remember to click restore not upgrade)

also try difrent usb on your pc and be sure to not use any kind of hubs etc.

Pull of charger and all cables. Restart computer. Put USB cable both to box and computer. Then hold recovery button on box and connect charger.


This mode can't be damaged

Thanks for your replay. I have tried this already but I cannot install driver anymore.
Before the 'upgrade' I could see the TV box, now I cannot. Please see the attached screen shots.

I flashed MK908II_HFW_2.0.3 and found this jumbled code in beside my clock. Any ideas wht this is?

Still no progress. Same thing. Computer cannot recognize the box. I forgot to mention the power led is red instead on blue ...

The led became red right after I did the "upgrade" instead of recover...

I am not sure which one is the PCB,. On the board it says XT-Q7-V10.
One of the PCB reads: Rockchip RK1000-S H1899 1344
