I hope it will be possible in future and Rockchip still supports RK3368 and not just focus on their newer chipsets.
I know the RK3288 will get Nougat support soon that was released before the RK3368 chipset and it's upgrade version RK3399(with built-in hard-drive bay) will launch with Nougat next month.
I'm currently working on custom Nougat firmware for RK3328 NT-N9, the upgrade version of RK3368 NT-V8 with full Kodi 18 support and it works great.

They fixed some Dolby Digital bug on Denon reveivers and it should work for other receivers too in above Kodi.

If you play the same videos with MXPlayer or 'Video' player, is the Dolby Digital audio correct then and it is only a problem in Kodi/FTMC?

I'm surprised by Kodi 18, it works very well even deinterlacing works automatically.
I think it can be used instead of other Kodi's in my ROM since RKMC/FTMC is not needed on RK3368 as it doesn't support advanced features like 10-bit, HDR or VP9 anyway.

I'm trying to flash this ROM (v1.5) for the first time on my Zidoo X6 Pro running stock 1.45 firmware provided by Zidoo. However, the box is not getting recognized by my PC when I connect the OTG port on the Android box to the PC.

I have checked (enabled) the following

• Settings -> USB -> Connect to PC

and followed the instructions (connect the OTG cable, keep the reset button pressed and connect power to the Zidoo X6 Pro). Yet, the device is not getting recognized. I have checked the cable and the USB port separately, to work fine.

What am I doing wrong? Can someone please help? I'd very much love to install this ROM.

Firstly, thank you for replying immediately with help, I tried a number of steps on both Windows and Linux, but of no avail.

1. Yes, I did install the drivers (on Windows 10 Pro). However, the device is not getting recognized. I opened up Device Manager to check for names with Unknown/Rock device, but none was displayed.
2. I tried setting these as well: SUPPORTLOWUSB=TRUE and FULLSPEEDUSB=TRUE, in the config.ini file for the Rockchip tool, but still didn't get recognized
3. Then I tried DriverAssistant and FactoryTool from your tip. That didn't work either.
4. To verify it's not an issue with Windows, I connected the device to a Linux machine and tried with Rockchip Linux Upgrade Tool as well (git clone https://github.com/geekboxzone/lollipop_RKTools.git). Instructions from http://www.hotmcu.com/wiki/Flashing_..._Rockchip_Tool. That does not recognize either.
5. I did verify that the RK3368 box does go into Recovery mode with both Windows and Linux when keeping the reset pin pressed, connecting to PC, followed by connecting power
6. Since none of the above worked for me, I tried one last step of creating a upgrade disk (sd card). Instructions from http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/downl...tool-v1-4.html. On booting with this, the display is just blank. I patiently waited for 20 minutes before removing power to ensure I don't brick the device while the flash might be getting updated. Rebooted to see the firmware was booting stock! So nothing had happened. I tried this process twice, but with the same result.

I'm clueless now. Would it possible to make an update.zip file that we can flash from recovery? There is some updater script and other files that details what goes into which partition etc., but I'm not good with the internals. If you can guide me, I can try to make one (hopefully I don't brick it though)!

Update: I used another cable and flashed the ROM successfully. God knows why the earlier cable I used worked while transferring data and charging and wouldn't work for the PC detecting the Android box, but I bought a new cable and got around the problem.

Observation: This ROM is just superfast! Especially coming from Zidoo's Lollipop stock, one can perceive the difference; apps load in a snap. There are a few crashes here and there, but are minor.

I think it has todo with the extra "ShutdownMenu.apk" that Mo123 made for this Rom ,

you can try to use the Stock one , like i do , but for this you have to delete the other one .

'Scraping' - getting video file information and posters to show in an app like Kodi/other media player app.
I think there are some files renamed incorrectly, maybe file names are too long or contain strange characters that Kodi can't read or there might be a corrupted video file somewhere that make Kodi crash.
erpenstine can try some PC software that does auto file renaming, there are some apps that rename all your media like name-season-episode.
Then can split all the media files in eg. 5 parts and scrape the 1st part folders and check if there are no crashes playing some of those files, then try the 2nd part folders etc. until you find out what folders/files cause the crashing and remove them.
Also try the latest Kodi 18 64-bit nightly as older versions might also have bugs with scraping perhaps.
