When Amlogic eventually decides to fix their codec. Until then, just play any 4K video for a few seconds as a workaround. I haven't found anything more elegant yet.

Okay, Live Channels is now updated to latest version...and the Google Play Store problem wasn't at all what I thought. Apparently, Google added a "feature" in v1.09.419 that hides the Live Channels app in the launcher if there are no channel sources available. This is a horrible UI design, which makes discoverability near impossible, but that's reality for now. What's really odd is that in v1.10.596 they even started ignoring the movie trailer channel provided in Google Movies & TV for Android 6.0 and later. When you upgraded from v1.09.419 the app would just DISAPPEAR from the launcher and the Google Play Store. Really, Google?!

Anyway, the workaround is to install another channel source like Haystack TV, Pluto TV, Bloomberg TV or the Weather Network TV. Once you do that, the Live Channels app will magically reappear.

That means there's something in the AMPAK updater that's messing with SystemUI.apk. I have a Mini M8S II here, so let me see if I can reproduce the bug.
I thought mine was s905x. in my cpu-z device tab it reads "MINI MXIII-II (p212)" but on the box it reads 'Mini M8S"
Which thread should I be following?

I saw there was an update but when I wanted to download it it doesn't show. Not for the Mini MXIII II anyway.

Something odd seems to be going on with OneDrive. For now, you should be able to download with this link to the parent directory.

Yeah, when they updated the internals, AZW apparently decided it wasn't worth updating the label on the enclosure. You've got an Mini M8S II.

That said, I was unable to reproduce your System UI crash. I confirmed that there's nothing in the AMPAK updater that touches SystemUI.apk, so it seems unlikely that the update did any damage.

Can you explain to me the steps needed to reproduce the bug?

All I do is start it up. It happens every time.

When I flashed should I have "force erase all" in usb burning tool instead of just normal erase? Wondering if something lingering from old install?

No, that shouldn't have been necessary. You're saying that you used USB Burning Tool to flash a burn package, then installed the update from TWRP? That's what I just did, and I'm not seeing any problems. The burn package flash should have reset the device to a known good state, so I doubt there was anything from previous installs that could have survived.

Would it be possible to add a reboot option? Maybe in the context menu? I have a multinot setup with LibreElec and AndroidTV and would like to switch between the two.

Eventually I'll add a Restart command to the Settings->About section, just like they did in the PureNexus build for ADT-1. However, with Terminal Emulator a reboot is as easy as launching and typing "reboot" or "reboot bootloader". That's almost as fast.

                          Magendanz,

so.... feeling a bit dumb here. Looks like the micro sd card I had inserted (forgot it was there) had a file system error- needed a format. It was causing the issue with the system ui.

                          Thanks!

Still, it seems like a bad SD card shouldn't cause a crash. Glad it wasn't a mainstream problem, though.

I am a total noob when it comes to android and tv boxes. I have the M8S version 2 ( https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini...69.html?wid=21 ).

I use my tv box mostly for Kodi in addition to a few apps to stream stuff. Can I update with the UPDATE&BACKUP utility program to get this? I don't care if my data is lost. I don't have a SD card. Can I just download the update with the browser on the box itself? Do I have to do anything else? Is it something that doesn't work? Wifi etc??

                                Thank you so much
