this is a TV hdmi stick
it has the same parameters like prestigio PAB2411 but it has no bluetooth an only one USB

I have a problem, I installed from zip custom recovery for other device on PAD2411 and it wont boot. There was no display and no led light.
I unbricked device by making rescue SD card and usin stock firmware. Now I can boot to android fine but i cant boot to recovery. hold reset and plug power doesnt work anymore. it still boot to android system.
can you advise me something, how can i fix that?

      It's good for 4GB box?

Hi, I am new. I found your great thread searching for g18ref...

      My box is http://www.plunk.it/tvbox/pro/caratteristiche.php

      It's an "MBX reference board (g18ref) - JDQ39".

As you can see from the link, the specs is like described in first page of this thread, but memory is only 4GB... not 8GB!

Can I flash the unlocked Matricom firmware to change the firmware and after update from OTA to the 1.1.9 beta?

This box have a particularity: a LED front panel.
If I flash Matricom firmware, the LED panel and the remote control will work?
There are some .apk that I have to extract/backup from the stock Android (the actual preinstalled version) to save this functionality?

      thanks a lot

You have a wierd setup if its only 4 gb as it seems identical to the standard mx boxes with the correct codes etc. Ok i would unscrew the 4 bottom screws and remove carefully the bottom plate. Then carefully remove the motherboard and flip it over. Careful its attached with a wire connecting to the heat sink plate above it. Just look for the motherboard ID code...should read something like HD18 V.2.0 or 2.1 or 2.2 etc.......let us know the ID and we can help you further

i wouldnt go as high as 1.1.9 matricom....the rom is buggy and the remote control doesnt work well with the on screen keyboard. i would not go past version 1.1.6 if you insist on sticking with matricom. I would prefer the newest droidplayer firmware instead. Its much more stable and the newer version of xbmc 13.x works well with it

          just my opinion of course

when matricom finally get round to releasing version 1.1.10 stable rom then i may consider them again. but they are occupied now with a quad core box and priorities with the mx have fallen down the list unfortunately.

Hi, thanks a lot for the answer.
Here you can find some photo: http://goo.gl/mheqMM (sorry for the bad quality).
As you can see on the motherboard the reference is “M6 v1.1” and the installed Android 4.2.2 recognize it like a g18ref device.

I found an old thread on Androidgadget about the same OEM box, where you can find some better photos: http://forum.androidgadget.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=148

I don’t know if the seller (plunk) has modified an 8GB g18ref ROM to suite the 4GB of the device… Here you can find the stock firmware: http://www.plunk.it/social/index.php...1/topic_id/174.

            Thank you again!

It looks like its a jinx box of some kind but modified because you have less HDD space. its a risk because the board says it has the same chipset but the configuration is different.

I would ask him about compatability using the g18ref board firmwares on this becaue they are programmed to install on partition tables (MTD) using the 8gb format. I dont think it will be a good idea installing because you will most likley brick the box and unable to recover.

You must contact the seller and ask the same question because if you flash and something goes wrong you will end up with a brick.

Where can I contact Jinx? I would like to ask to him, because Plunk (the seller) doesn't answer and not support more the product.
                Thx a lot

I wouldnt know how to contact him as his does firmware for other chipset devices also so i cant help you.

My advice is to pick up an official G18REF system as they are very cheap now and you will have more options to play with better firmware.

Matricom also use this board but many other companies de - badge this unit and put their own firmware on.

Its what most people are using and has the most development in firmware

Be careful and buy from a reliable store. I bought one recently from **** and noticed it hasn't heatsink and a big metal plate was put under the top plastic cover to avoid you notice the heat. Thay was a really crappy one..

                          OTT HD18T-T2 Bricked (?) box

                          Hi guys,

                          Another bricked box.

This one is an OTT branded DVB-T2 8GB AML8726 Box that doesn't accept new firmware.

I can boot with SD card, and even upload new firmware, but after restart, the OS doesn't boot

Here is a pic of the board.

I think I tried everything on this (and other) forum, and no luck.

Regarding the com port I guess if I connect a serial cable to the 4 solder tabs on the board (right of eatsink) and use putty i can see what is going on during boot.

can someone confirm this? I'll need to solder some wires on the board but I would like some feedback from you guys if this is the correct way of doing it.

We cannot upload anything with this com port do we?

                          Thanks,

                          Pedro

It's possible to mod a compiled ROM (like the Matricom BIN) to change the user MTD partitions size, from 8GB to 4 gb? In this case it could be possible to flash the modded ROM also on a 4 GB board.
                            Thx

Partitions are defined in the kernel, you can't modify mtd sizes and Partitions unless you have full kernel sources.

                                install directly. Some hardware.

                                1. Use SD card
                                2. use OTA Local upgrade
