Another report here: I've got a S649 chip. I only booted stock firmware the first time, didn't check which version it was. I upgraded to Magendanz's ATV rom via OTA, without any problems. My device is working like a charm since then.

Yeah, I have three units and I've verified that they're all working just fine, but the last one I received was shipping back in July. I really do think that it's the eMMC 5.1 chip from the August production that's the source of this problem.

You sure? I purchased mine on Aug 30th. Received just ten or twelve days after, and as I said, I didn't have any problem with your ATV rom.

And you can notice on my picture that I have an eMMC 5.1 chip as well.

Or it just the SEC 701 chip that caused problems. Your purchase was in August, while people with the ROM flash issues and freezing ordered theirs in September. It that right? But interesstingly we have at least three eMMC which were used in the August production. SEC 701, SEC 713 and S649 (@Meiden really sure, that this is eMMC 5.1?)

Also, SEC 701 and SEC 713 seems to be the same product and share the same modell number: KLMAG1JENB - B041. Maybe just different revisions/steppings?

Just trying to figure out what meams what: Just realize that Meidens S649 is also an KLMAG1JENB-B041 eMMC. So the name of the eMMC modell is KLMAG1JENB-B041. See product page. The big printed numbers SEC 649, 701 and 713 seem to mean something else. Any suggestions?

I too bought from GB in August and got the product delivered in September. My chip is SEC 652 with additional markings KLMAG1JENB B041 S558Z016. I have not dared to flash anything yet but am running Libreelec from the microSD card
