I also think that my problem is overheating. TV boxing hangs every 20-40 minutes when I watch the video. It is necessary to disconnect from the socket and wait for it to cool before the image appears again. I want to use radiators from old motherboards.

I will release non-ATV variants (Nano & Stock) of this custom ROM with the next update of TVStock. (I already do this for the M8S Pro and M8S Pro+.)

Great ROM, been using for a few days now.

What speeds are others getting on wifi 5GHz?

Im at 60 mbit/s, it's kind of bad

I was getting 99mbit/s on my cheaper crappy mxq pro + s905 box

          1. Use a better glue. The std. glue can be applied too thickly and is not the best thermally anyway (my guess)
Arctic Silver Epoxy is the best - Close second is the Aluminium version - Note this is PERMANENT Glue.
I used small bead in the centre and this is spread thinly by pressure. I used a 2.75Kg mass.

+ 2. Use a better Heatsink - a 22x22x10mm fits easily and costs buttons ont Bay

Or + 3. Taller HS adds a bit of an extra Air-Gap
The Pro L has a 28x28x6mm HS and a 10mm upgrade fits easily.

But - as stated a change to a decent thermal glue is simple and provides great results.
A bigger HS will always help of course, assuming there is room ...

          10mm High .....................15mm High.....................15mm= +air-gap

Good glue ~20C better than thick, poor glue !

          Bigger/Taller HS ~3-5C better again

                Twist it !

Back and forth, at first it won't seem to move, but then it will move a small amount, getting bigger until it comes free ...

Just select it as a local update in the Update app, check Wipe Data, and hit Confirm.

Sounds like you may have corrupted your recovery partition. If you open Terminal and type "reboot recovery", do you get to the stock recovery or TWRP?

I have the same problem. The box freezes, and I can only resolve it by turning off the power. I've already changed the rom, but it's still the same. If you can solve it, please publish the solution found. I will do the same. Thank you.

I rebooted into recovery and did the install all good now. One issue I keep having is freezes when running this ROM lol, anything that can be done?

                    Thanks

See the discussions about overheating. Perhaps a little thermal grease will fix the problem.

How about power key on remote definition seems not to work ... I will try to work on that I might know how. Also do you know where the bootanimation is located for both nexus and android animations?

                    Thanks

Remote IR codes for Nougat are now defined in the device tree, unfortunately. It's quite a hassle to change them. Boot animation is in /media.

If I played with build.prop file and now the bootanimation is constantly playing I am assuming I've bustes something. Is there a way to get to recovery, I haven't seen any pin holes or ways to get to recovery physically?

                    Thanks

Yep, you got a bootloop. Welcome to my world! :-)

The problem with the M8S Pro L (and now the M8S Pro+) is that they don't have reset switches, so in this scenario you can't easily hold it down during power-up to enter recovery mode. Also, we don't have an Amlogic burn package (.img file), and so there's no recovery in Mask ROM mode if you screw up the bootloader.

What you're going to have to do is open up the case and short the pins where the reset switch used to be mounted. If you plan on doing this regularly, you might also consider soldering on a switch.

So hold on which file would that be because I also wiped everything?
                      Thanks

p.s. I want to point out that I changed the model name and a few other parameters in build.prop prior to getting boot loop
