Hi, thanks for asking.
I managed to wipe all data and remove the unknown PIN.

I'm not sure if it's related, but the 0522 rooted edition gives a lot of Stopped Responding for launcher, SystemUI and other stuff, although RAM use hardly exceeds 2GB...
But my SMB LAN app works perfectly now.


About nvidia Shield: I didn't want to get Shield because the hardware seems old, I used to have WDTV that's software stable but became obsolete codec wise.
I tried a Xiaomi 3S but it didn't work with Netflix DRM despite the claims.
So I got a Chromecast Ultra to play the paid DRM stuff, and x99 to play the odd codecs like hi10p, and be my file/media server.
I could've gotten a mini PC but it's hot n noisy

you booted into "Recovery" not "Boottloader" Mode , that is a different Mode ,

The recovery mode has a bootloader option, so maybe that will work too? I'm just going to try SD card flashing again with the Oct again when it's rooted.

PLEASE do not flash or update a File with Stock CWM Recovery , it is not possible to do that ,

and "bootloader" Mode is not for flashing Roms , please try only the stock SD Card Way & report

the results , but believe ME , flashing with PC is easy , if your Way fails with SDCard , i can guide

you if you want , to flash with PC , dont know how often , but never problems , with stock flashing ,

i use the same Rom , yes sometimes this stupid message pops up , the usage of RAM is normal ,

this comes because of many in background running Apps , but with "root" u can do a bit against

it , debloating & using special Apps for "Autostart" stop . Mini Pcs are not bad , there are some good

Boxes available for Cash and not all are noisy ,

Just got my x99 box from Wechip on Aliexpress. Came preloaded with 7.1.2 NHG47K 20181024 firmware and rooted according to root checker. Rooted apps are working fine without requiring SU installed. Microsoft Launcher works fine instead of default. Its zippy - very fast boot. I am happy for one but I only use it for IPTV streams

its V1.0.2 - I would presume it same as trk3399_box-userdebug 7.1.2 NHG47K eng.foxluo.20181010.134628 test-keys apart from date. I have asked supplier for link to download img for stock rom -for backup. I will advise if they send me one.

latest AndroidTool , under "AdvancedFunction" you can press "exportImage" , after

that it is done , unplug , ready , go on as usual , upload , ready ,

All of them.
But you need v2.51 or later if you backup Nougat.
First backup your parameter file(start 0, size 2) then use it to get the locations of all the other partitions.
eg. before the @ is the size, after the @ is the offset/location to start.
After each partition backup, rename the *.img file in the Output folder.

Did recieved my X99 box few days ago from an chinese **** seller, who told me it should be an unrooted box.

But, happy i was, connected it to TV and started to download some local TV apps and started them.

"cant played Movies becaused the device is Rooted"

So i'll guess, i'm the only one who wanted an unrooted firmware

Does anyone knows where to find unrooted firmware to X99 Rockhip 3399 4gb ram/32gb store?

Did try an "unroot" app from Play Store, and multiple root checker, said it is unrooted now, but still same local app said it is rooted .
