@5teve: My screenshot button remains hidden during lock/unlock screen after I've switched it off in the settings. Weird...
      Thanks Marco..

Not sure what is causing the screenshot thing.. its a strange one. I'm using 1.8a.. never had the issue prior to this tho. Also got CWM recovery and crossbreeder running too.. not that it should make a difference

What battery app are you using?

      Steve

EDIT:- Just turned the screenshot icon off on the nav bar and rebooted the tablet before it went to sleep. This time it has stayed away..

        Finally found it.

To enter flash mode in this tablet, the button combination is:

        volume + / volume - / power on

With the tablet connected to the pc and the Flash Tool open, it will recognize the tablet and you can start the flash process again.

Just remember, don't delete the pipo launchers...

Help....... OMG I've brick my tablet

My tablet hang on boot while the riley logo (badge like logo on 1.8) was still on the screen.... I think I've brick it (I'd copied several files from my laptop and accidentally put my laptop to sleep mode and then remove the cable without turning off the usb storage mode.... my tablet reset by itself and hang on bootup ever since). I've messed up the volume rocker so I can't do a hard reset to flash mode using the hard button combination. I've reset the device several times with no luck....(still stuck on boot) any help would be really appreciated. I'm on Windows 7, and since the tablet stuck at boot up, flash tool cannot find the device (only android device appear in the device manager) Is there any software that runs on win7 that can format nand flash or reboot the device to flashmode while the device is still power off or stuck on bootup. Or Is there a way to fix this problem by opening the device or whatsoever?

Does this hang on boot up also means I messed up my nand flash?.....

There is an indication in a previous post in this same thread, from other user (Zdr, I think)...(page 2)

He says that through a ADB command you can put the tablet in Flash Mode: ADB reboot bootloader. I doesn't tried that method (I can do it with the buttons), but I guess you have to install Android SDK and then run the command from a command window.

BTW, I've reflashed the 1.8a Rom; this time doesn't delete anything, but after a reboot it still stuck at Riley logo...

Will try if 1.8 works for me

At some point, I noticed that after holding reset, device presents itself as HTC Dream, under device manager>ADB. I typed "adb devices" and here it was - device id 01234567890ABCDEF. Quick list of command options in ADB cought my eye with this one: adb reboot-bootloader. And voila - I was back in business. Device was recognized in Rom Flash Tool and I could do the entire process again. Thought someone might find this useful.

Let's see if I go through the evening with this rom. Version 1.7 was hanging on me roughly twice a day. Might be a hw issue too, I don't know.
Do I have to install android sdk... I think I also messed up the Esc key along with the volume rocker..
As mentioned earlier I m on win7.. still stuck on boot up.. can't rely on hard button except reset and power button... can I've a step by step instruction pls.

Re: Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.8 [MAX not PRO]

I'm at work...so I can't post a link. There is a sticky in the Pipo forum that gives the manual steps to get into flash mode.

Also, in the ROM kit in the "alternate app....." folder is the RKBatchtool. You can use the switch button to get into flash mode...then switch back to the Finless flash tool to flash.

There are several reasons for bootloops.

First make sure you are flashing the correct ROM. This one is for M6 Max. If you are flashing a M6 Pro tablet with this ROM you'll get a boot loop.

Also try a different USB port and/or cable. Make sure it is a USB 2.0...not USB 3.0

Glad to know that you've somehow managed to unbrick yours, I've also bricked my device, and desperately trying to fix it. BTW.. Did you just hold the reset button while the tablet is still stuck on boot or when power off? Was it with or without pressing the power button?

Can you please give me the name of tools/software BTW I've messed up my volume rocker and ESC buttons while trying to remove a dust inside the screen, so, they simply doesn't work and I've to rely on the two remaining button and third party soft.

Thank you... Randy, sad to tell you that when pressing switch button on RKbatchtool it flashes no device..... or something like that and the other flashtool cannot detect my device.

Sounds like the Windows drivers are the problem...if you have ruled out all of those things. Do you have access to al older PC with XP? Try that.

That's great to hear! My battery app is called Battery Monitor Widget. I don't use it much and don't understand half the info but can be useful :P

Did you manager easily to remove dust inside the screen? I also have a similar problem near a corner of the screen, but I don't know how is difficult to 'separate' the cover from the screen inside the tablet.

I follow the instruction, connect my MAX-M6 to my PC and get the message "Found RKAndrod Mass Storage Usb", however I got a error message when I press "reboot to flash mode", the error message is "Device can not do switch, because of no drive". Can someone tell me how to fix it? Thanks!

Inside the zip folder there is an alternate app to get into flash mode. Just run the rkbatchtool and click the switch button.

Then go back to the ROM flash tool and you will see it on loader mode. You can continue with the instructions from that point.
