Help....does not boot after bad use of flash tool
Hi, I was trying to flash my Pipo M6 with new 1.8 ( I had 1.5+1.6 kernel), but for mistake I click on Erase IDB after receiving an error that something went wrong with the Reboot3flash process.
Now when boot the tablet, it freezes on rileyrom pipo max m6 artwork,
As it freezes, i'm not getting PC to recognised the tablet, i cant even install manually the rockusbdriver !!
How can I sort this out ?
Thank you very much
Filipe

You can get into flash mode manually by following the steps in this thread:

You need to do it each time you flash the whole ROM.

Have you tried flashing on of the other ROM's or stock firmware? See if that boot's and try to re-flash this one again to troubleshoot. Try a different parameter, too.
I'm pretty sure other's are having success with flashing this ROM on their tablets. Also, make sure you are flashing the correct ROM. This is for the M6 Max...not the M6 Pro (pretty confusing, huh?).Randy

Well looks like mine had died! Copied some photos over to the internal SD and it crashed in the process (first freeze in about 4 weeks) it now will not boot at all just stays at the riley rom logo..
Must be copying of files over a certain amount that causes it.. out of interest is there space allocated to the filesystem and in this instance the filesystem data runs out of room?
Flashing again soon.. may revert back to 1.7..

It looks like Pipo has a bug that causes a crash when you copy files back and forth from internal to external SD. That was reported a while back. I don't think they have released a firmware update since. The only way to solve this is to erase idb and flash again. The problem is less likely to occur if you have your external SD formatted NTFS.Randy

I'm still keeping my eyes open. None of my sources show any updates. I never know ahead of time...they just appear.

Deep Sleep resolved
I have solved the problem with the deep sleep!
I make 2 changes:
1. rename /system/lib/libril-rk29-dataonly.so to libril-rk29-dataonly.so.old (with es file explorer)
2. unpack the whole rom including the ramdisk (from boot.img) and make a comment to the following line in the default.prop:
#rild3.libpath=/system/lib/libril-rk29-dataonly.so
Afterwards I packed the whole rom again and flashed it.
Now my Pipo M6 max uses correctly the deep sleep.
I know that this makes the 3G modem useless but I don't use it anyways and the deep sleep is much more important for me.
You can try if the first modification (renaming the libril-rk29-dataonly.so) is enough to solve the deep sleep problem. If not I can upload my modified rom.
I am pretty sure that this will solve the deep sleep problem at the M6 pro too.

Re: Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.8 [MAX not PRO]
Nice discovery!!!!!!!
I'm not sure if I will make this change in the ROM because it defeats 3G. But its here for everyone to try if deep sleep is an issue. I just turn my tablet off when I'm not using it.
If you have a Linux box...or VirtualBox, there are some really good tools on Freaktab for making your own ROMs.
If anyone wants to learn how...just watch for new threads from 900Supersport. He taught me...and is sharing his techniques with others.
