    CX-919T reboots constantly

Hello all - I'm new here and new to this whole internet streaming stuff so please don't assume I know how to read between the lines yet we all had to start somewhere - right .
My CX-919 Rockchip RK3188T 1.4Ghz speed is rebooting constantly and sometimes won't even stay on when I move the mouse or anything. I tried a restore from within Android 4.2.2 (and I have the stock ROM with no changes) but that did not solve anything. Next I went to the Geek Buying site and downloaded the stock ROM from there and the Rockchip Batch tool v1.6 and USB drivers for windows and I believe I got the drivers installed for my 64 bit machine installed OK as I was able to find the CX-919 0715 update image file and the light at the bottom of the batch tool turned green and it seemed to install fine and it said it was OK at the end but now the CX-919 won't boot. Just shows the blue Android icon like it was loading but stops part way through and disconnects from the TV. Now that I think about it maybe the trouble is that the instructions on the Geek Buying site said to click the restore button in the batch tool but the image is labeled "cx-919 0715 update.img" - could it be that the instructions are incorrect and the upgrade button should be used and not the restore button?

My second question is: would this Finless CX-919 4.2.2 1.6b Rom posted here work better on my CX-919 Rockchip RK3188T 1.4Ghz and solve the rebooting issue or should I try the KitKat 4.4 upgrade here:
Update on 2th April, some developer said this rom have some kernel problem. please hold to flash this rom, till the developer to find the problem, and fix it.   […]

I just want this stick to stream properly to my LG smart TV from the net using XBMC and the like and hopefully be able to cut the Cable Company cord soon. Sorry for the long winded explanation - any help would be much appreciated.

Well, I wish I could using the method given but as the thing keeps on disconnecting, I don't even have the chance to click on it in Device Manager.

What I did do though was to manually install the driver by right clicking on the .inf file and selecting Install. I was hoping that might solve it but it did not.

To answer your question, I was unable to install the drivers through the recommended method. Also, while using a workaround to install them, there was no change in behaviour.

use the rom tool in file.... ROM FLASH TOOL 1.37 or RKDEVELOP TOOL 1.37
ERASE NAND (IDB).... THEn FLASH ROM.
You need to connect thru Computer to device. connect with cable USB Computer mico to mini usb
hold FN on side of device untill it tells you FOUND

Hellob daddyb: can you tell me how to erase the Nand "exactly" - I am not familiar with that process? Also when I flash the ROM do I use the "restore" buttopn in the flash tool or the "update" button? You say you used the finless rom 1.6 but is that the 1.6b version and did it solve the issues with using it with XBMC? Thanks in advance for your reply!

CX-919 flash with 1.6b issues with WiFi and Bluetooth - any thoughts?

I recently acquired a CX-919. It seemed to work OK, but had issues with streaming any video at all, it would lock up, or pause so often it was unwatchable even though it seemed to fully buffer (which you can see in YouTube).

After trying everything I could I decided to try see if the venerable Finless ROM would would help. Flashed fine with default simon_no_oc kernal, but when I turned it on no HDMI output. I tried both of the simon_no_oc kernals (1080 and 720) and same thing. Then I tried the stock kernal 720 and low and behold it booted with HDMI and everything looked great. However, neither WiFi or Bluetooth will work.

I found 3 other ROM versions that flash fine, boot, and seem to function just fine, but the WiFi or Bluetooth just don't work. Neomode's ROM does the same thing as the simon kernals, no HDMI output.

And I didn't dump the rom before I flashed...

Everything else with the Finless rom functions perfectly as far as I can tell but Wifi and Bluetooth.

I hope this is just me

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

                Here are the basic specs:
                Operating System Android 4.2.2
                Processer RK3188 Quad-core Cortex A9
                GPU Quad-core Mali-400
                Memory 2GB DDR3
                Internal Storage 8GB NAND Flash

Thank you very much for your reply blinkone. I downloaded the kernel files, tried 3 different versions. They all flash fine and boot fine, but no joy. When I turn on WiFi it attempts to do so, then just toggles it off again.

                      Hiya.

this may seem a strange request, but if there any way someone could package this into an update.zip that can be used from the internal sd. (ie. found an update.zip would you like to flash it)

I have a cx 919, but the OTG port is broken, so I cant connect it to a PC.

I only wanted the thing for netflix and with the stock rom it is crappy

                      Thanks in advance.

New to the Android mini PC world although I have some background in Android ROM cooking.

What I know is that every Android device needs to have a boot loader, a recovery and a kernel besides the system, data and cache partitions.

Now, this flash mode that everyone is talking about I assume is the recovery mode. I don't seem to be having problems getting there but for some reason the device connects/disconnects from the PC intermittently meaning that I follow the procedure to get to "flash mode" and the PC just starts playing the USB connect and USB disconnect sound one after another for about 10 times until the device decides to reboot into Android.

                        To make it simple:
                        USB device connect sound: DING
                        USB device disconnect sound: DONG

                        What happens:
DING -> Windows message "USB device not recognised...bla"->DONG
DING -> Windows message "USB device not recognised...bla"->DONG
DING -> Windows message "USB device not recognised...bla"->DONG
DING -> Windows message "USB device not recognised...bla"->DONG
                        ...x10

                        Then reboots to Android.

                        Any hints?
                        Hi.

I´ve got the exact same problem as icezar, and I´ve tried several cables and computers, and nothing is working.

Is is locked in anyway, or what is the problem?

                        Comment

Thats the problem I have too. I have tried various cables and different PCs (one Windows, one Linux)

                          smells like a dodgy batch

                            Hi all.

                            I have CX-919 ( bought from GeekBuying )
I tried to flash this version, but the wifi is doing problems of slowliness....
It was good before arount 15Mb at "Speedtest".
( Internet in my mobile says 40Mb - same network )

from what I've read, I need to install new firmware, but it's for AP2610 (wifi) devices
I checked and my wifi chipset is "BCM4330"

                            what should I do ?
do I need to try this ROM ?

                              e.g file menu then download

Put this on your internal SDcard or on an external micro SDcard.
To put it on internal in settings turn on USB storage.
Open you My Computer icon on your PC and open the AOSP device. If tis doesn't show up then in settings, storage, click the 3 dots in the upper right and change it to Mass Storage. Now an internal SDcard should show up on your PC.
                              Copy the update.zip there.
GO back into setting and turn off USB.
Wait a few seconds on the desktop and you should get a prompt that it found an update. Click yes to install it.
On reboot another prompt will ask you if you want to delete the update.zip from sdcard. Click yes so you don't keep getting nagged about the update. Note: click yes can take a few seconds after boot! Don't worry it's not stuck. Just wait for the system to settle down and the yes button should work.

Let me know if this fixes it.

Is this update.zip valid for mk809iii under kitkat?
It ia only valid for cx919? For rk3188 only? Can I use with rk3086 (imito mx1 kitkat)?
Can you provide new link? It is down.

                              Many thanks in advance

Hello. I installed the 1.5 Finless Rom several months ago but I have I completely forgotten how I did that. Are the instructions packed with the ROM? I will be using my CX-919 to watch movies off my shared Hard disk (attached to my router). Do you recommend any other ROM and Kernel for the same?
