Better to get it right on one device first.

Is the newer release going to be based on the minix rom that was released a day or 2 ago that is supposed to fix hdmi etc?

      Hi, Lewy

How can I get another one folder for samba mounting?
Two folders is not enough for me.
      I use justXBMC 1.2.0 - it's really nice firmware.
MX player not working from XBMC

You can use the app cifsmanager from the play store. I only use it for 1 smb share but works OK..

edit cifs init.d script in /etc/init.d and add "mkdir"

here is the link to test firmware 1.2.1:
              Download

if some one could test apps like hulu and netflix it will help.
have in mind that this firmware have sdcard unmounted by default
so xbmc should never louse gui settings etc but some android apps may not work.
also xbmc is a launcher now.
home button is remaped to escape so it will go to xbmc homescreen.
its based on latest firmware from minix.
i pached stock kernel to 720p (thanks to finless bob for how to)
you have a choice to use 1080p or 720p it can be changed in advanced settings.
no overclock over stock 1.6 so it should work on every minix x7.

please provide a feedback, its realy important so i can fix if anything is wrong.

                  Lewy,

I had trouble getting the XBMC to load as the screen was blank for 15 mins after I received the message wait for XBMC to load. After power off and restart XBMC came up but didn't load the the default updates or suerrepo repository. I deleted my user data and restarted and then everything started working...

all with 720P kernel; I have a collection of ripped 1080p blue rays on a NAS. All HD content freezes and closes after 5-20mins. The bigger the file size the quicker it fails. This is also the same with every XBMC apk so far, however yours plays much smoother and longer before the movie stops.

                  MKV play smooth
                  MPG play smooth
                  AVI artifacts and choppy
                  DIVX artifacts and choppy

I really like XBMC as a launcher. I will give more feedback after I play around with 1080p kernel, Hulu and Netflix...

                  Frank

                    lewy,

Ive been using a wifi 5G connection and I have 45mbps broadband. 1080P switched ok... NAS movies don't play too long before they stop.

Hulu and Netflix plays ok but some artifacts maybe low resolution videos?

Also the shift buttons don't work in XBMC but work fine in android. I have tested an A1 minix and a k400 Logitech... Air mouse works great...

I bought this box to test so I could replace my media pc's that are scattered through out the house and so far it looks very promising. Your doing a great job and I hope Im giving you the info you need...

                      thanks for feedback my friend.
as to your problem with freezes, please play a movie from hdd usb or pendrive to make sure that the problem is in the firmware or your nas configuration.
i have a nas 2.5TB and it seems to play everything ok.
only problematic vids are 60fps videos all other play fine on my end

Same for me, but other solution.
After flashing in first reebot, wait... wait...... wait........ panic, panic! panic!!!!! xbmc don't respond (chose your destiny) wait or cancel = cancel, and immediately xbmc appeared!!
go to programs> android apps> Google play store (login) update all. And for super repo I press letter C and nothing happens, so I press (in de A2) the button of 4 parallel lines and force to update and all is working now.

Not for me, but only has 720 videos, I can play a movie over samba for at least one hour and play smooth and without freezes.
no problems with subtitles or audio delays.
I have a few 720 videos and I play over samba, no problems Xvid work fine, but a few H264 looks like a christmas tree. But same happens with other player or other xbmc versions. I don“t know why, but it happens.

Antutu score is: 19566 an recognizes my "nexus 7".

                        Hope this is usefull

you need to remount the system.
                          add this to your script:
                          Code:
                                busybox mount -o remount,rw -t auto /system;
                                [COLOR=#333333]mkdir /mnt/Samba_3
                          [/COLOR] busybox mount -o remount,ro -t auto /system;[COLOR=#333333]
                          [/COLOR] busybox mount -t cifs //192.168.1.102/your_share /mnt/Samba_3 -o user=yourusername,pass=yourpassword[COLOR=#333333]

Don't use a folder inside met cause is RO by default. Create a folder inside /mnt/sdcard witch is RW

it can be done like this with all erlier ver but no with the latest one as there is no sdcard.

You're right, perhaps it's easy to add the mount sdcard first in the init.d and after that the mkdir inside sdcard...just thinking...
