Could you make manual hide/show system bar feature by long pressing menu key on remote? (it's introduced into new official firmware).
I think, that is nice feature.

as to your problem with freezes, please play a movie from hdd usb or pendrive to make sure that the problem is in the firmware or your nas configuration.
i have a nas 2.5TB and it seems to play everything ok.
only problematic vids are 60fps videos all other play fine on my end

Ok I tried my laptop and a Pivos M3 (linux build) both play the NAS movies fine. I then flashed the new test firmware 007e and I can get all movies to play on the Minix video player smoothly so far only pausing occasionally to buffer maybe once every 30-45 mins then restarts? I wonder if your rom quits when the buffer happens during the movie? The stock player seems to play all movie types well no artifacts. I installed justxbmcv4.apk on the 007e and it doesnt work so well, its choppy and only 45fps on sys info screen? maybe missing some requirements in the rom? Minix have made some good advancement with 007e... Are you using this version?

I hope you get this, I really like your launcher approach as it is exactly what I've been looking for. On a positive note your justxbmc rom plays the XBMC streams better than any others I've tried...

This rom is a true masterpiece Lewy. Can't thank you enough for creating it. Even 1080 MP4 streams are smooth in XBMC.

One little thing though. Every now and then there is no sound. The sound is gone for a few seconds and returns. I had the same problem in your previous rom. I'm using HDMI passthrough mostly. I tried other sound options as well but the sound keeps dissappearing ino matter which setting I choose.

I had the same problem on my Geniatech atv510b device. What worked instantly, was adding buffersettings to advancedsettings.xml:

you should not need the 'buffermode' line, though...at least xbmc wiki mentions that its not used anymore for frodo upwards.

A perfect rom for neo x7

Dear readers,

first I want to thank you for this amazing rom. Everything is just perfect on XBMC. With this one.
finless rom 1.7 was the rom I used before this one.

Next I want to give you an update on your rom. The rom you used is very good only a bit slow.
what I did is the following to fix this:

i installed your rom with rock chip batch tool, after I did this used the tool to install the kernel of finless rom 1.7 with the provided tools finless rom. I just patched the kernel from finless rom 1.7. Yes the kernel I patched is the overclocked kernel, with 1,8Ghz CPU, 600Mhz GPU and 800Mhz MEM.
after I did this the rom is amazingly fast. XBMC works perfectly. Even mashup 1.3.9 works again.
thanks for this amazing rom. I get now with this rom an antutu score of 21500 on a 1080p kernel.
Before that I was getting almost 17000 on a 720p kernel. Also gaming is much better and faster.

Oh and final, finless rom I had a problem of pairing my dual shock 3 on sixaxis app.
after this rom everything works perfectly again. Just like it worked on finless rom 1.6.

I just re flashed your 1.2.1 XBMC launcher ROM, let it boot to xbmc and then powered off / flashed the Finless 1.7 OC kernel 1080P 1.8 / 600 / 800 and now I can play all of my NAS movies in 1080p true HD smoothly. Sys info shows 1080p @ 60fps steady... So far so good, Ill keep playing around with it and report back...

mot every minix x7 love oveclocking.
i will probably add a swich for overlocked kernels in advanced settings.

I think Lewy is absolutely right. First, not all minix neo x7s like overclocking. Second, it is a personal choice. When Lewy and Bob make roms, it has to meet the lowest common denominator. Even then people complain. So, all these fine settings have to be played with by individuals.

it would be no problem to use the 1080P OC kernel from finless rom 1.7
what the real problem here is the boxes who cannot run this config are NON original MiniX boxes.
altrough you won't believe it, they make copies right now of the neo x7 in China with much cheaper chips then the original ones. The best option then is to use the 1080P 1.8 Ghz CPU, 600Mhz GPU and 400 MHz MEM. This works for those imitation boxes. You can set the speed on 1.6 Ghz CPU as default.
in your rom in setting menu there is an overclock solution build in to make it extendable to 1.8 Ghz.
with this the solution is made.

Oh what also can be done is the following.
I can make a setup for you and after that you just restore that image by CWM recovery.
this will make a lot of end users happy, they simply need to restore this image, setup language.
configure google account and then go to XBMC and setup language there.
then they are ready to go. It is the most easy way and also very fast.

Lewy your rom is spot on with the 1.7 1080p oc kernel, the box is stable and so far not one shutdown. I watched 2 1080p MKV's smooth as silk from start to finish, every movie format I have tried works... This is my new daily driver with an Antutu score of 20433. I don't play games so I cant test that side of it but as a media PC replacement this is very close to perfect. Fast forward and reverse doesn't work so well but that's all I've noticed so far...
