This was with 696mhz ddr and stock mali.Riley 2.0test2 (not sure wich test number )

dnkn, any plan to release the 696mhz & 768mhz ddr version of the kernel?

How much is battery life affected by OC?

Not sure yet, as I'm using it very hard. But yesterday I used it hard for ~7 hours, 49% left. So it seems to be more power effective but above is with wider range of brightness kernel and I'm using my tab on low brightness level. So that may be the reason for nearly 2 times more battery life. I don't see another explanation for such unbelievable result. May be low brightness in conjunction with slightly undervolted CPU leads to that power efficiency. It feels like new device , its ~2x faster and ~2x battery life.
Or may be the reason is that it sleeps like a baby now, see the stats, they show adequate awake and sleep status, not like on stock kernel. And WiFi was on all the time BRILLIANT , wake me up, too good to be true 12 hours of use with 3.40h of screen on drained unbelievable 20%. that estimates for ~18.3h screen on time. That is just ... wake me up.

As for overclocking , it is not overclocked actually. It uses 528mhz DDR freq, which is stock for pipo m8hd. But on m8hd it uses 1250mv , but in my kernel it runs on 1150mv, undervolted. Also I've found a bug in sources which may have led to high battery drain. Practice is very promising as for now.

I will post 696 MHz version later. 768mhz DDR may be harmfull and may drain battery. Unfortunately our soc lack thermal sensor, so there's no temperature feedback available, that is why I use 528 MHz DDR as it is stock for m8hd. and it perfoms quite well.

How about kernel mods @ old pcb devices?

I don't think its possible as I have no idea what are the differences between v1 and others.
Is there any info available on this subject?

Maybe rrileypm know more about it. He made a RileyROM 2.0 release mixing both old and new pcb ROMs.

                  696

696mhz/1250mv (1250mv is stock voltage for 528mhz ddr on m8hd) ddr kernel.
Kernel is with wide brightness range, some devices may encounter flickering on low brightness levels,if so,then please connect via usb (usb debugging should be on). and run an pc (in folder with adb, usually can be found in Tsparky root scripts) this command adb shell cat /proc/kmsg then enter display options and change brightness to the level on which you have flickering and watch the screen on pc, there should be messages, I'm interested in the value after "real is" . report the value in my thread.

With auto brightness there may be flickering as the OS needs to be tweaked for new values.

dnkn, nice work, do you know if Riley included your undervolted 528mhz mega battery saver kernel with his rr2.1 package?

I'm not sure which image did he include. I think it was with stock brightness levels,I do not know whether that kernel is that battery friendly...
And those unreal power efficiency needs to be confirmed... I will fully charge mine and do some tests. I just can not believe in that numbers.

dnkn, thanks for 696 kernel, will test it and if it works fine, I may be tempted to ask for a 768 version .

Comparing the checksum from Riley's 2.1, it seems the kernel included is the one on post #40 in your thread, the original attachment name is kernel_rkcrc.zip. Can you tell us what's the difference between this one and the lower brightness version in post #38? So far I'm counting 4 kernels you've released to date, including the 696 version

I'm going right now to install from scratch 2.1 with that kernel.
