I find the quickest way is to just flash it and see.

Try the old version and if wifi or lan doesn't work then flash the new one.

I went thru this last night with my sisters machine and couldn't work out why both of them were failing on wifi. Eventually I tried the T-R42 firmware instead and that worked. They had sent her a T-R42 with bluetooth instead even tho I had ordered the K-R42.

I still can't get the latest two versions on my box 12.2 or 1.2.3 . Both appear to flash perfectly however I get a black screen with no output via hdmi or composite.

The rom does not come with a flashing tool however I use the 1.7 that came with another rom. Is this okay.

I am sure I am doing everything okay since other Roms I flash work fine.
My tv is a modern samsung 1080p 47 incher so I'm sure that isn't the problem.

Has anyone ever had any weird experiences like mine? I've downloaded it several times both versions and it. Doesn't work. However the slightly harder flashing process of 1.2.1 which uses the different flashing method when you have to select the various parts to flash works fine.

Please help. I'm desperate to get a stable netflix box up and running.

How to tell revision?

Hey all - not actually sure which model I actually have, was bought off **** as a generic Android device with nothing on the box in terms of model number. It is RK3188, based off settings > about (looks identical to pictures are any of your devices), and I also managed root using instructions here.

Question is how do I tell what revision I have, and any idea if I can clarify which model I have (from the board perhaps - I haven't yet opened)?

*** OK - just searched thread and saw that flashing either should be fine to see which one works.

i just receive a new box and i open it to see what version i got .

b351 v1.1 1338 ...sound new if its 1338.

the box boot on new and old revision but on new it crash in setting when switching wlan or lan ...wont turn toggle on.

on old revision there no crashes but wlan wont turn on and lan turn on and off but does not connect

any suggestion? please help

**edit i think, better yet im sure the seller sent me t-r42 instead .
question: is it same as the k-r42 just with bluetooth or should i return it

I also have K-R42 from geekbying. PCB is B351 V2 (date 2013/09/22). I can't get any of Wasser fimrwares to work properly. Best result I got with "k-r42-new_revision-wasser-1.2.2". But even that does not work better than stock firmware. There were problems with wifi, and could bot get NAND to work. Could be that I'm doing something wrong.
At the moment I'm using this (http://pan.baidu.com/s/1f7pYV). If I can help testing something, please let me know. Keep up the good work!

Question on justXBMC apk file

the xbmc app crashes randomly, is there a newer version available because everything runs smooth on this firmware

or can i just update it with a normal xbmc now after installing this justxbmc app ?

I have the same issue but only with the new alpha builds of XBMC 13. My show will be playing fine and then it will just exit the show and make you start it back up again. For the moment I will have to go back to Lewys rom. I am on the old version of the k-r42

You can change the screen density yourself.

Run ES File Explorer (or any other file manager with root).
Enable allow it to run with root features.
Navigate to /system
open up build.prop as a text file
Scroll down to the "ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES" section
Find "ro.sf.lcd_density="
Change the number after the "=" symbol to something higher than what it is (if you don't know I suggest you start with 200 to see what you like)
Restart device

ok thank you. so i have another question. in the stock rom it was possible to send pictures and videos from my android mobile phone via the app "iMediaShare" to the r-k42 box. now with this custom roms its not possible anmore?! is the another way to do it ?

Hi. Bought cs918 on Amazon. Trying every firmware can find. The device is not booting, stuck on boot logo.
