Unit Crashing - bootloop - help

      Hi,

I hope someone can help. I have a unit with date code 1331 so I assume it is old revision, and I tried flashing with 1.2.4 1080P old rev which seemed to work fine, but when running XBMC it was freezing up and having to be reebooted.

I then tried the 720p old rev of the same firmware but it is stuck in bootloop.

I notice with this version it did not boot straight to cwm recovery like it did with the 1.2.2, I notice some people saying about format cache partition which I always do when i flash an android phone but don't know how to do on this box or how to get into cwm if this my be causing the problem?

I have attached a photo of the board to see if anyone knows what is going on or can offer any help, which would be greatly appreciated:

Im not sure if it is something to do with the TV becuse it is an LG22LS4D where the resolution is actually 1680 x 1050 but it should not matter as it does support 1080p and 720p inputs normally without issue.

      Thanks

looks almost the same as my 1332 and that works with K-R42 old revision, i am using 720p because my projector doesnt have higher resolution anyway. lewy firmwares worked as well.

Hi I have tried the 720p version which is flashed to the box now but it will not boot at all now, I am thinking it may be due to me not wipe data factory reset, wipe cache partition/dalvik partition after moving from the 1080p old rev that was working but freezing on xbmc. Problem is I cannot work out how to get into cwm now to do this

install all parts of the wasser firmware and then do a factory reset in the recovery. that should give you clean state to begin with.

              Hi wasser,
I have been testing this kernel since it was released by you.
It works with my K-R42 revision and 1.2.4 FW.
Both Lan and wifi are supported well, but there is no SPDIF Passthrough option for 5.1 sound.
But biggest issue is with RAM and GPU performance.
AnTuTu shows 312-1608 CPU frequence, but GPU 2D+3D(940+1854) and RAM speed is 920 only.
Total AnTuTu scores are up to 16800.
Such a low performance doesn't allow to play HD movies without significant stuttering.
Is it possible to make any RAM/DDR overclocked 1080p kernels?
              Thanks in advance

                Hello,

please someone with Wasser ROM 1.2.4 and working overclocked 1080p kernel, pack me your system folder under root to zip via X-Plore, I have the ZXSD-Z005 V02 board and I want to try something!

                        Hi dear wasser,
Ask you for help, because I dont understand anything last time.
                        I have:
                        1)CPU is locked on 1.2 or 1.4Ghz when I use 1.2.4+your overcloced 720 and 1080 K-R42 kernels;
                        2)CPU is locked on 1.608Ghz when I use 1.2.4+your kernel-t_r42-new_revision-1080p-nocpulock;
                        3)CPU is locked on 1.704 and 1.800Ghz when I use 1.2.4+ Sam's overclocked kernels;(didn't try 1.9)
4)CPU is locked on 1.4Ghz when I use your KitKat0.92-4.4.2+ 720 and 1080 kernels which are inside this your FW.
I have tried the test was offered by d33 last night

and got dmesg for your KitKat0.92-4.4.2. It shows me this line:
                        <4>[ 1.068714] cpufreq: delete arm freq(1608000)
                        It makes me crazy
                        Do I have 50% "T" 3188?
                        Her is my full dmesg

Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do I get into recovery? When I installed an old version of the firmware (cant remember if it was Wasser's or Lewey's) the box would boot into recovery the first time after flashing the image.

Now when I flash the first boot looks like it is booting to recovery (I get the android man in the screen and there is a message that I connot fully read because it is cut off from the screen but it seems to say clearing cache clearing partition etc. This goes through the process automatically and then starts to boot as normal but it just gets stuck in a bootloop and keeps repeating the boot animation over and over.

I have tried the 720p and then tried to go back to the 1080p version which was working but with some freezing but now that is also stuck in bootloop when I try to flash.

I think it maybe I juts need to go into recovery and wipe data/cache etc but I cannot work out how to get it to boot to recovery.

                          Any help would be great.

                          Thanks

                            Hi Digger,
your box has clearly rk3188T, Kernel from 2,3 doesn't have cpulock so you get full 1.608 and oc with 1.704/18000
kernel from 1,4 has cpulock so your cpu clock shows 1.2/1,4 Ghz.

As i know there're many clones from k-r42/t-r42 on the market with different hardwares. It's impossible to support all models without having hardwares.

It's the reason why i ony support the k-r42/t-r-42 (no clones) in the future!

                                Hi wasser,
O.K. it seems like my 3188 has "T".
But how you can explain situation when I use "nocpulock" kernels (your or sam's), I can skip CPU frequence locking (I have 1600;1704;1800), but cannot get improvement with RAM and GPU performance?
Mali_dfvs shows 446 max. only all the time.
It looks like efuse=51 is changing someting else except "delete arm frequence" even in old sources based kernel.

Regarding "clones" I think situation is a little different.
After New Year all devices have 3188T instead of full 3188. And it doesn't matter is it clone or nonclone.
As it is known minix only use full 3188 in their X7 model.
A lot of people who wait for devices delivery or make their orders now, will have 99,999% "T" model.
And you will bump to this fact soon and it is your good will to help us or leave us with this crap
