In his post on minixforum I can see at this moment 1 difference:
    ROM: Finless 1.7 + kernel1080_cpu1800h_gpustock600_ddr720
I have the cpu1800_gpu798_ddr800 running as kernel.
Molle could you test the other kernel to see if there is a difference, i'll see tomorrow if i can get your kernel.

      Which kernel are you testing?
I'm getting a feeling that the kernels have different settings available.

I requested Molle about his exact kernel choice. Once he replies, I will try it and see. I didn't think the frequency variations of cpu, gpu and ram should make a difference in the actual choices but apparently, it does. I will wait for his response and see.

I'm definitely using the Finless ROM. The Sound Output Devices list in sound settings contains six entries the last one being the passthrough. When I open the list, only the first five are visible. But there is a scroll bar on the right side indicating that the list continues.

I had the passthrough option available also on Finless 1.6 (and HFW 2.0.3) regardless of the kernel I used (Peter's binary-patched or my own build from sources).

That is where I was stuck. There is nothing below the 5th option! Passthrough was there and I was using it in 1.6. Somehow, I lost it. Thanks to your help, I will get it back, I hope. I am reflashing it with the kernel you are using to see if I can get it. Will report back a while later.

OK. It is later and I just finished flashing the exact same kernel. I still don't see a 6th option of passthrough. I can only see 5 options. I do see a ghost of a scroll bar that is active only when I move the cursor. But, I cannot go down. I tried with the original remote and a keyboard. I tried with three sizes of fonts. Didn't make any difference. I have to give up at this stage I guess. I have now tried several kernels from Bob's oc kernels and none of them gave me the sixth option.

OK. second and possibly final edit. I finally found the sixth option but it is really funny. My original remote or keyboard direction key doesn't do anything. I have a logitech K400r keyboard and if I press page down(blue function key and down arrow), I see the option. Success finally. However, the reason I say it is funny is because if I go there again, it is still not seen and down arrow either on the remote or keyboard doesn't reveal it. Only that Fn_key combination. Anyway, Big thanks to Molle that I even was trying to get there. I don't know how it could be that obscure that it doesn't respond to regular commands. This should give others like me hope that there is some way to get it and it really is there!
            Thanks, Molle.

I have a problem with the sixaxis controller. Probably blue tooth does not work well in this rom. Does anyone have a solution

Croscrow, I just posted something similar. Can you have a read of this and tell me if it's like what you get, please.

                  NEW - Minix Neo X7 - Finless 1.7 ROM

Just flashed with OC kernel 1708 and I must say that I'm impressed, thanks Bob. The last month I haven't even used the X7 because of how bad it performed but now...Wow.! 1080p movies are now joyful to watch. And the box is snappy in the interface, the A2 also works but not play/pause like many already noticed but I can live with that :-)

I use a ps3 controller to this rom everything worked. Maybe because I changed kernal so it does not work for me?

after you mentioned the 6e option, i looked again at it. I first thought it was a graphical bug or so but i pushed a button to get further down and then i saw the new option. Quickly tested xbmc and it works

only left is the system bar but getting closer

Which button did you push to get the 6th option? I am curious. I couldn't get it easily even after knowing it was supposed to be there.

                            Newby

                            Hi guys!

I finally received my X7 today! It was so long under way that it still had 005 installed, boy that firmware was horrible. So, first thing I did was install Finless 1.7 (air, stock, stock) and that was a awesome improvement.

So after installing an ssh server, newest busybox and other trivia (youtube/null keyboard) I decided to progress to the next level; connectivity > NFS!

As this firmware should have the necessary nfs kernels, it should be possible :d

                            255|root@android:/mnt/sdcard # dmesg |grep 'NFS'
<6>[ 0.682938] RPC: Registered tcp NFSv4.1 backchannel transport module.
                            <6>[ 0.760018] nfs4filelayout_init: NFSv4 File Layout Driver Registering...

Yes! All good there. Seeing as I was allready using NFS with my raspberry for months we can safely say that the server side (synology) is fine, IP is added to the go-list, so let's go:

                            255|root@android:/mnt/sdcard # mount -o rw,intr,soft,nolock,nfsvers=3 -t nfs 192.168.1.2:/volume1/Storage /mnt/sdcard/storage
                            mount: Invalid argument
                            255|root@android:/mnt/sdcard #

After trying many, many different combinations I feel that my mind is now at the point of no longer seeing my own mistakes. Tried to mount the nfs share with cifsmanager > invalid argument.

Could anyone point me in the right direction here guys?

Next on my to do list: Getting rid of the menu bar completely (I'm using the A2 airmouse so i have all those buttons on the remote anyway > GONE), companring all the different xbmc versions, getting xbmc to work with a remote database, tooling around the xbmx advanced settings of the latest alpha's to get the best out of the hardware decoding, fixing the play/pause buttons.

                            Fun fun fun

                              Same problems for me unfortunely.
Hoping to mount a simple share with nfs. But its new for me. My ac ryan supports it but i dont no the right command to mount it.

With cifsmanager i do it now.
But i want nfs not cifs.
Nfs is much faster so im told.

Try it with cifsmanager, it can also mount nfs. at the server adress fill it in like this:

                                -- specify the Share Path as <server>:<path> (e.g. 192.168.1.17:/mnt/Spajz)
-- Username and Password fields are ignored in this case

With me it resulted in the same 'invalid argument' stuff, so It apparently didn't change much from what i tried
