For those that want a small desktop and status bar like previous 1080P.
      Use ES File explorer.
      open /system/build.prop
      edit it and change:
      ro.sf.lcd_density=160
      reboot

It is set to 240 which gives the "look" of 720P.

Bob can you help me with this NFS thing. How do I mount my share with it. I use cifsmanager now.

My server is located at 192.168.1.19/usb1.

What can I do to use this NFS that everybody is so happy about.?

        Thank you bob,

So far it looks ok, but i have an annoying issue. Even in the 1.6 version my TV renegotiates constantly to check the HDMI line resulting in my tv going back and fourth (it's like changing your external connections). It is connected to an A/V receiver but I have no issue with my other boxes, even tried other cable or input of the A/V receiver but no success

Annoying had same issue and how this can be solved?

Another issue, I patched libmedia and installed the XBMC ouya edition where I only get the menu sound but no sound of the video. However which is strange is that in the sound settings it shows that there is no passthrough device but able to select HDMI.
Anyone else playing with XBMC for passthrough?

              Regards

Lewy is our XBMC master here on FreakTab. I am not a XBMC expert by any means. Heck I cannot even set it up!

Maybe he can test this ROM and do whatever is needed to make a XBMC version?

                Lewy?

                    Hi,
Thanks for your effort for this new ROM
                    Just some feedback:
On the stock kernel, the homescreen is always blinking every 2sec when the HDMI output is set on 1080p-60, and 1080p-50. But while on 1080p-24, there is no more blinking issue. but the mouse is moving like on slow-motion.
I tried to use overclock kernel CPU1800 GPU 600 DDR800, no more issue was found, but I don't want to overclock to protect my device.

When playing FullHD movies, there is a very big improvement neraly the perfection.

I have modified the build.prop to set it with Overlay 1, and LCD density 160, but nothing has changed.

This is the flickering issue even I m having.. I could not change the build prop using es file explorer also. I tried all kernels and still have this issue.. It's like my TV is always getting a reconnection from device and this I see the TV video toggle off and on again.. This happens with whatever resolution I set irrespective of the kernel loaded

Me. The patched libmedia library works great with the libmedia-enabled OUYA XBMC 12.3. No problems with DD or DTS passthrough.

Multichannel passthrough works with the stock player and MX Player even without the patched library.

I think there is some sort of flickering going on with stock.

I think that's why I originally asked Bob for an OC kernel, I thought the ROM wasn't as snappy as the OC ROM but thinking about it, i think there's something wrong with the video output in the stock ROM I can't really put my finger on it but it's definitely not a smooth as for example Lewys ROM.

I'm going to have a proper play about tonight and try and see what's going on.

Confirming the refresh rate as the cause of the bad display

Confirming that changing the refresh rate did make the display stable. I'm on 1080p-30 and all is well. However, I'm still back on stock (007) because I was unable to "get in to see" to change the refresh rate down to 30 on Finless 1.7.

@Finless - maybe consider (if it's possible) setting the default refresh down at 30 for maximum compatibility and have ppl bump it up themselves?

Is there a way to pre-set the refresh at 30 in the ROM before I flash it?

You folks with flickering. Lets see if it is the ROM or the new kernel.

Please flash the kernel from my 1.6 ROM and see if you still get it.
